Last month PokerTracker 4 rolled out version 4.11. This new update significantly improved the HUD and report speed while populating stats, and for the first time the inclusion of database caching for custom stats, which once again improves performance speed for users who had custom stats installed.

However, PokerTracker 4 users experienced a number of issues with this new update.

A database update is required with this new version, which depending on the size of your database and the speed of your hard drive, could potentially take a long time.

Another issue that arose was several bugs were not caught during the testing phase. Users experienced bugs in the following scenarios:

• When a stat column contained a nested formula within a formula.

• When a custom column name from a custom stat matched another custom column name from another custom stat from any third party developers.

• When users upgraded while using antiquated versions of PostgreSQL.

As a result PokerTracker put out a few releases very quickly to fix these bugs, but that in itself caused accidental confusion and some concern from players that did not understand why this was occurring.

What do you need to know?

Thankfully all these issues have now been resolved, and PokerTracker 4.11.6 has been released which has rectified all these issues. Please make sure you have this most updated version of PokerTracker in order to prevent any further issues.

On a side note, those of you who travel and play online poker across multiple time zones may have experienced issues with the time zone used for the tracking of hands. This is because PostgreSQL version 9.3 has changed how it determines time zone. It previously was determined by the operating system of your computer, but version 9.3 is determined by the configuration file. Instructions on how to alter the time zone are available in the thread below:
