The rise of the Flip & Go tournament has been controversial in poker, especially with the live WSOP bracelet events in the format, but they undeniably get numbers when they run.

Now the place where the game first launched, GGPoker, has announced a $1 million guaranteed Flip & Go with just an $11 buy-in.

The format remains the same, on the hour there is a 'Discard' round played with three hole cards until each table is down to a winner. Then the survivors progress to the in-the-money stage with varying chip stacks to play down to a champion.

“Flip & Go Millionaire will allow players to turn pennies into a share of a million,” said Sarne Lightman, Global Head of GGPoker. “This format gets players to the most exciting part of the poker tournament faster than ever - it has been designed to maximize the fun, maximize the prizes and accommodate as many players as possible!”

11 days of Flip stages

The initial Discard stages will be on the hour, every hour, starting on November 1 all the way up to Stage 2 on November 11. You can play as many Discard stages as you want and can buy in for between one and five buy-ins each time.

Based on the guarantee it looks like GGPoker are expecting around 90,000 entries to this, although the number of unique entries will be much lower. It looks like for an $11 entry fee we will see a six-figure Flip & Go winner crowned next month.

Qualifiers are running around the clock at GGPoker starting at $0.11.
