Event 3 & 4 started

713 participants started into the third event of the WSOP - the second Pot Limit Hold'em Event with a buy-in of $1,500. The fourth event ($5,000 Mix Event) enticed 332 players to the tables.

Event 3 - $1,500 Pot Limit Hold'em

The bubble already burst on the first day of the third event. From over 700 players, 72 are to finish in the money. But unlike the participants in Event 2, the players in the $1.5k PLH Event hurried through the tournament. Only 63 people will start the second day tomorrow.

Several stars could be found amongst the starters again. Besides Andy Bloch, you could also find Humberto Brenes, Victor Ramdin, Greg
Raymer and Phil Ivey at the tables. They all had to join the rails on the first day though.

David Singer is one of the popular faces in the upper field of the chip count, currently ranked third with 123,600 chips. Brandon
Schaefer has over 47,300 chips at his disposal which put him in the upper third. Tom McEvoy is in the middle of the field with 22,900 chips.

From the German participants, two made it into the money. Sven
Schmithuysen (20,500 chips) and Matthias Kürschner (16,300) are still listed in the chip count and will have a cash finish. Katja Thater and Jan van Halle again dropped out before reaching the money ranks.

The prize pool amounts to $953,781. The winner receives $214,132.

Event 4 - $5,000 Mix Event (Limit/No-Limit Hold'em)

For the fourth tournament - the first Mix event of the Series - 332 players gathered in the Rio. Mix events are rather rare in Europe, but enjoy a great popularity in the US. Limit and No-Limit Hold'em are taking turns every 30 minutes.

Day 1 also had some prominent victims. Amongst others, Chad Brown, Doyle Brunson, Allen Cunningham, Barry
Greenstein, Jennifer Harman, Dario Minieri, David Pham and Vanessa
Rousso had to clear their seats.

From Germany, Katja Thater was present again, but like in the first three events she already dropped out on the first day. On the other hand, Markus Lehmann is still hanging on with 18,000 chips.

Still in the race is the new Team Full Tilt player
Patrik Antonius, as well as Marcel Luske, Roland De Wolfe and Rolf Slotboom.
Justin Bonomo is currently fourth with 82,800 chips. Gavin Griffin is ranked 9th with 65,800 chips. Overall, 91 players survived the first day.

The prize pool amounts to $1,560,400. The first place finisher receives $375,617.
