81 players survived Day 2 of the WPT Main Event in the Bicycle Casino. Adam Weinraub took over the chip lead. If he wants to win the tournament, he will still have to brave quite a few pros.

players returned to the tables - amongst them also the defending champion Dan Harrington. He was eliminated rather early by Barry
Greenstein though. A similar fate was reserved for Men Nguyen. After two wins in the prelims, he also had to clear his seat early yesterday.

Phil Laak was sent to the rails a bit later. As short stack he pushed all-in from the cutoff and was called by . Laak flipped over . The board gave him no help and he was also out of the tourney. Vanessa Rousso dropped out as well: With A-K offsuited she had to submit to the pocket tens of John Smith.

Brandon Cantu will probably have been worked up even more about his elimination. With he put all his chips into the middle of the table on the board of . Mark Newhouse called with two pairs . The turn gave Cantu the hoped for nut straight, but the river meant the full house for Newhouse.

Top-class Field of Participants on Day 3

Amongst the 81 remaining players, quite a few pros can still be found. There is no table on which they won't face each other. Thus Erik Seidel (195k chips) will meet amongst others Barry Greenstein
(40k) and HSP moderator Gabe Kaplan (195k). The November Nine
Kelly Kim (105k) will have to deal with Allen Cunningham (187k) on table 11.

Chip leader Adam Weinraub (461k) will have the honour of playing for the win against Daniel
Negreanu (28k) and Erick Lindgren (221k).
Furthermore, Max Pescatori (246k),
Antonio Esfandiari (200k), Layne Flack (189k), Lee Markholt (84k), Toto
Leonidas (64k) and Kathy Liebert (61k) are still in the race as well.
