average stack: 18 679

We are
having the biggest poker tournament in Poland, finally! First hands of the
European Poker Tour Warsaw - Polish Open, were played yesterday. The event is organized by PokerStars in the casino of the
Hyatt Regency on Belwederska
Avenue in Warsaw.
Organisation of the event is of the highest grade.
We can observe the experience and
the professionalism of PokerStars Team.

Because
of the fewer number of poker players than expected, the tournament Director,
decided to change the tournament pattern and finish the 1st day at the 7th
level of blinds. We had 99 players yesterday.
Everyone of them started with 10 000 in stack. There were over 20
Polish poker players.  After 7 hours, 53
players were left. The biggest stack is held by
Anthony Lellouch from France
( 57,600 in stack). On the 2nd place is Ludovic Lacay with
a 49,600 stack. On the 3rd position  is Johnny Lodden from Norway with 41,450 in stack.

The best
of Polish players  was Michal Piechowski,
who has 22 500 behind stack is on the 14th position.  Also , something over 20 000 in stack has
Maciej Doli Doliwa (21 975, 16th position) and Michal Zareba
(21 625, 17th position).

Aces were very unlucky
yesterday. In the first hand we
had a classical action. Antony Lellouche found Kx Kx on pocket. He played all-in preflop and got Ax Ax action from unknown poker player.
Unfortunately for unknown player, Lellouch found Kx on turn, which gave him set and the winning
hand. The unknown player busted and Antony
was  chipleader of tournament.

On the table with Ricardo Sousa (he lost with Michaele Schulze in heads-up
on ETP Warsaw in March) we caught a river action

on
board, when Ricardo bet for 1200 from early position with 2500 in the pot. An
opponent thought quite long before the call. Finally, he called and he didn't
say the word. Sousa showed

and won the pot.

The
most interesting was The Table of Doom.
This table was full of action. On this table were member of the
PokerStars Pro Team Gavin Griffin, Juan Maceiras who played in the last edition
of EPT Warsaw, and one of the most colourful figures of Full Tilt Poker Ilari Ziigmund Sahamies. He called almost every raise of Griffin. Here we have the
most interesting of actions. Juan Maceiras (MP3) raised for 1000. When an
action came to Ziigmunda (big blind), he called. Gavin Griffin also called.
Flop brought

6d

and
Gavin attacked for 650. Then, Maceiras played all-in. Sahamies folded, however Griffin called with

and
with nuts flush draw. Juan had

,
what
was a big suprise for member of PokerStars Pro Team. So Griffin needed just one diamond more to bust
out Juan. On turn
,however
on last street
gave

In that
case Juan Maceiras doubled up!

And
the next hand. Gavin Griffin busted out an unknown player. Under the gun player
started with open raise for 500. Sitting next to him, Gavin, raised for 700.
Immidiately he was called by Juan Maceiras, who was sitting on his left. The next player went all-in for over 5000. Gavin called and showed Jx Jx. The
opponent was in trouble with

on turn and

on
river.
After this hand Gavin had 19 000 in his stack.

The table of Doom
The Table of Doom - Gavin Griffin, Juan Maceiras and Ricardo Sousa

After the
meal break Ricardo Sousa (2nd on EPT Warsaw in March 2008) joined at the table
of doom. Sousa was on short with approximate 3000.
However, we saw Ilari
Ziigmund Sahamies in action. Preflop Ziigmund open raised for 800
from middle position. The button player and Juan Maceiras on big blind called
him. The flop brought
9s

.
Juan
checked. Ilarie also checked. The big blind bet for 1725. Maceiras folded,
however and Sahamies called. On turn came a

and
the Finn checked again. The button player checked behind. The river brought

and
Ziigmund
checked once more. The
big blind however checked behind and Sahamies showed

After
this hand Zii had 19 000 in stack.

Few
minutes later he was in the limelight again.  He checked  small blind
for 800.  The flop brought
4s

.
An
opponent continued for 800, however Ilari moved all-in. The rival had
about 3500 in his stack and called with
6s
. Zii
was held

.
and
was dominated.  Last two streets brought were
and
and
the Finn had to give up the pot.

Sousa and
Ziigmund finished the tournament at the end of 1st day. In the first
place, Ilari busted out Ricardo. Ziigmund played limp to Sousa. Sousa ( on the button)
raised for 1000, and he left behind  5000. So Ilari played all-in. Sousa
called with Qx Qx.  But
Sahamies had Aces Ax Ax. Unfortunatelly
we didn't catch an action when Sousa busted out.

Unfortunatelly,
Kara Scott busted out. Today, Aces are very unlucky. On flop

6d
2s
Kara
played all-in with Ax Ax pocket. An opponent called. Ha had 2x 2x pocket. Kara didn't find any help
on the last streets. In this way she finished the tournament.

Before the break, two Polish players busted out. Marek Soprano Piecha and Paweł Zelik Chmiel finnished their participations on EPT Warsaw.
