PokerPalooza 2009: Largest Poker Expo During WSOP
The Gaming Lifestyle Expo returns this year under a new name and with a whole new range of attractions for poker players and fans. It is taking place from July 2 to July 5, overlapping with the WSOP Main Event.
The Gaming Lifestyle Expo is the world's largest poker exposition and this year it will shine under a new brand and a new format. The inaugural "PokerPalooza" will provide the same access to poker and lifestyle exhibitors as its predecessor, but it will also put more focus on fun, social and interactive elements.
PokerPalooza will take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from 2nd to 5th of July, meaning it will overlap with the beginning of the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event. Being located a few steps away from the tournament playing area, it will offer a perfect place for players or fans of poker to find something to their taste.
Marketing director for the WSOP Ty Stewart commented, "It's going to be part trade show, part carnival, all fun."
The signature "Bad Beat Bar" will surely attract numerous players who will have stories to swap there after being eliminated from poker's biggest event. Multiple WSOP champions are also expected to lurk around the area, as they will sign autographs and conduct seminars.
For those who want to forget a bad beat or just to have some fun, there will be a variety of games, such as a mechanical bull, sumo-wrestling suits and some carnival-style games. PokerPalooza will be open to anyone who is 21 years of age or older and it will be free of admission.
