WSOP Live On The Internet
The disappointment was big when the ESPN announced that they would only record four events for television. But this disappointment should yield to joy now: a total of 24 final tables will be broadcast via live stream on the Internet.
"We are proud to provide the culminating action of so many prominent events to a worldwide audience in real time"
is how Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP representantive, commented on the deal which will offer live action from the final tables of 24 events of the WSOP 2009.
This offer now complements the ESPN coverage and holds promise of numerous sleepless nights for the European poker fans in the upcoming month. The $1,000 No Limit Hold'em Even on the 2nd of June will be the first final table to be transmitted in real-time. From that day on, the inclined poker player will almost daily have the chance to turn night into day.
The highlights of the transmission will definitely be the $10,000 events, as well as the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. tournament.
The live stream is always available either on ESPN360.com or on Bluffmagazine.com. If the skill of our Team Pokerstrategy.com pays off, we can hope for the participation of one or several team members on a final table and could thus keep our fingers crossed while following them live and in picture.
ESPN meanwhile has notable experience with the live streaming of poker events. The WSOP Europe has already been transmitted on the Internet on ESPN.
