WSOP Event #12: Doyle and Todd Brunson In Top 10

Day 2 of the $10,000 Mixed Event had many casualties, including Daniel Negreanu, Scotty Nguyen and others. Meanwhile, the Brunson family had a great day, as both Todd and Doyle are amongst the top 10 stacks.

WSOP Event 12Second day of the $10,000 Mixed Event came to an end with Huck Seed
taking over the chip lead. Many more notable names survived through the
day, including Doyle and Todd Brunson. They both managed to find a spot
amongst the top 10 stacks entering Day 3.

Doyle Brunson and Eric Froelich were nearly eliminated, but they
managed to recover and climb to the top. Meanwhile, Daniel Negreanu,
Howard Lederer, Scotty Nguyen and Vanessa Rousso couldn't make it
through the day.

David Oppenheim entered the day as the chip leader, but he was also
seen packing his bags after an encounter with Doyle Brunson. The
game was Seven Card Stud and Brunson caught his flush draw on 7th
street with AcKc5c4c3c while Openheim's board showed 7hAh7sQd, but he mucked his down cards.

huck seeds leads into day 3

Huck SeedUnfortunately for Peter Gelencser, he turned out to be the bubble boy of the tournament, ending his run in 25th place. Gelencser held AhKc and went up against Joe Serock's QdQs. The board came JsJhJhTc2c.

Pocket queens held up and Gelencser was sent to the rail. This pot
moved Serock into the chip lead with 640,000 at that time, though by
the end of the day he would pass the lead to Huck Seed (pictured left).

As the play was coming to an end, a rather shocked Phil Hellmuth came
wandering around the remaining three tables of the $10,000 Mixed Event,
telling anyone who would listen the bad beat story about how he was
just knocked out of the $2,000 NL Hold'em event. The key words of his
story rang through the nearby ears, "So sick," "obviusly he sucked out" and "so unlucky."

Vitaly Lunkin was the last player to hit the rail before Day 2 came to
an end. In a PLO round, Lunkin moved all-in for his last 12,000 with TdTs9s3h and Eric Froelich called with A-Qc9c5d. The board came 3cAs5cKs8h and sent the winner of the $40,000 No Limit event to the rail in 21st place.

The remaining 20 players will continue their hunt for the bracelet in
the Event #12, with Huck Seed holding a 60,000 chip lead over his
closest challenger Joe Serock.
