WSOPE Caesars Cup - with Ivey and Eastgate

For the first time ever, the Caesars Cup will take place during the course of the WSOP Europe. Phil Ivey and Peter Easgate are the first nominations by both team captains Daniel Negreanu and Annette Obrestad.

It is said to be the match of America vs Europe, and just maybe it will also be one of those generation matches, for as far as we know, on September 25, solid experience meets the two youngest winners of a WSOP Main Event.

Daniel
Negreanu, captain of the American team and four-time bracelet winner himself, presented Phil Ivey as his first team member a short time ago. With him, one of the most successful players of this year's WSOP joined the team.

With his bracelets number six and seven, Ivey proved again why he is one of the most complete poker players, and in the online high stakes games, there are only very few players who are on a par with the "Tiger Woods" of the Poker world.

The European team, however, seems to be a bit on the short side regarding experience. At least with respect to Livepoker, Peter Eastgate as well as Annette Obrestad have not yet had the chance to gather as much experience as their American competitors.

In return, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey are going to meet up with the youngest ever winners of a WSOP main event and bracelet. While Peter Eastgate (pictured left) took the record over at the age of 22 in last November from Phil Hellmuth, the former youngest main event winner, Annette Obrestad is the youngest winner of a WSOP bracelet in history. And since people under 21 are not allowed in Casinos in the US, this title can only be challenged in Europe.

The Caesars Cup has its premier at this year's WSOP Europe. In the style of the Ryders Cup in Golf, two teams with eight players each play against each other in a series of different matches and try to win points for their team. Six of the players are chosen by the team captain. And one spot each is assigned through special promotions.

Leaderboard. In August, the ranks 2 - 10 are paid out a total of $25,000. The winner is then the eighth player in Team Europe at the WSOP in London.

The starting signal sounds on September 18 with a £1,060 No
Limit Hold’em event. After that the following events are also part of the game: a £2,650 Pot Limit
Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha mix event, a £5,250 Pot Limit Omaha championship, the £10,350 NLH Main Event as well as the above mentioned Caesars Cup.
