WPT Bellagio Cup V: Final Table Set

Day 4 of the World Poker Tour Bellagio Cup V only lasted just over one hour as four players were eliminated in 28 hands to form the final table. Faraz Jaka remain at the top for the third day in a row and goes into the final table with almost one third of all the chips in play.

Justin "Boosted J" Smith with almost 3 million chips is in second place while Alec Torelli, Erik Seidel, Christopher Sonesson and Alexandre Gomes make up the rest of the final table. Asides from Seidel who is gunning for his second WPT title, none of the other players have had any WPT final table experience.

Three hands on Day 5 sealed the fate of the four "semi-finalists". The first elimination occurred in the very first hand of the day. Ray Taylor, Erik Seidel, Justin Smith limp, Alec Torelli completes and Pavel Reshetov checks his big blind. The flop comes, and Torelli checks. Reshetov puts 100,000 in the pool, and everyone folds to Torelli. Torelli check-raises to 240,000 and Reshetov moves all in with his remaining 484,000.

2 Eliminations In One Hand

Reshetov shows but is dominated by Torelli's . The turn and the river give two aces with respectively, but they are of no help to Reshetov. Torelli is now up to 2.5 million chips while Reshetov takes home $61,980 for his 10th placed finish.

In hand 13, two players were busted out in 8th and 9th positions, and it was none other than the chip leader Faraz Jaka who did the deed. Ray Taylor started the action by raising the button to 70,000, Sam Stein goes all in with 531,000, Jaka calls and Ray Taylor comes over the top to make it 1,168,000. Jaka of course calls. Jaka shows , Taylor kh: and Stein has .

The flop comes , which is of no use to Stein. Jaka now has a flush draw, while Taylor kings are still in good shape to double him up. The turn card is a , and now Stein has an open ended straight draw. The  river card however changes everything as Jaka hits his flush to win the biggest pot in the tournament so far. Sam Stein is out in 9th place for $61,980 while 8th placed Ray Taylor wins $87,160.

Mimi Tran was knocked out at 6th place in the last hand of the day. In hand 28, Mimi Tran moves all in with her last 382,000 with , and Faraz Jaka calls with . The flop comes, and gives Jaka the lead with queens. The on the turn and the on the river means Tran is out in seventh place. She earns $125,900 for her effort.
