WSOP: Final table starts on Saturday

On Saturday 7th of November, it'll be here again: after four months of play break, one of the most important poker events of the year, the final table of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker will be hosted at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino.
6,494 players made up the starters at the beginning of July. The buy-in amounted to $10,000, the prize pool contained $61,043,600 and with 648 paid ranks, a little more than $30 million were available for distribution. That's almost the amount that will be distributed among the finalists.

The winner will emerge $8,546,435 richer and all players have already received $1,263,602.

Ivey is the star, Moon is chip leader

Phil Ivey is definitely going to be the most prominent player at the final table. If he manages to at least come in fifth, he will have nudged Daniel Negreanu from the top spot on the "All Time Money" list; the only argument against this possibility is his relatively modest stack of 9,765,000 chips. With a massive 58,930,000 in chips, chip leader Darvin Moon holds almost six times as much as Ivey does.

Meet the November Niners

The November NinersWithin the next days, we are going to present the November Niners in more detail and shed some light on who the players behind the names and pictures are.

The prelude, tomorrow, consists of Darvin Moon, James Akenhead and Phil Ivey.

On Wednesday, Kevin Schaffel, Steven Begleiter and Eric Buchman will follow.

On Thursday, the final part consists of Joe Cada, Antoine Saout and Jeff Shulman.

The final table starts on Saturday 7th of November. They will play until the two heads-up finalists become clear. The winner will be declared on Monday 9th of November.
