Phil Laak Attempting to Break World Record

In his recent blog, Phil Laak revealed that he is going to try and break the Guiness World Record for most hours of poker played in one go. Laak's goal is to reach 80 hours, thus beating the current record of 78 hours set by Paul Zimbler.

Phil "The Unabomber" Laak (pictured right with Jennifer Tilly) has announced that he is going to try and take down the the Guinness World Record for poker endurance at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

In his recent blog entry, Laak wrote: "I have played many enduro sessions of poker, but never anything of this magnitude.  I know this will test my limits but I love a good challenge and am excited to be trying to beat this record in Vegas' top poker room."

He also mentioned that he has been preparing for this challenge since January, following strict rules for his "body, mind and spirit", according to his blog.

Laak's challenge to start in June

Phil Laak's attempt at breaking the current record for poker endurance will take place at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The starting date will be June 2nd at local noon time and Laak is aiming to play for 80 hours continuously.

He also stated that half of his winnings from this challenge will be donated to the Camp Sunshine foundation. The current poker endurance record belongs to Paul Zimbler, who played for a total of 78 hours and 25 minutes in September last year. Zimbler made £35,000 in the process, which he donated to the Make-a-Wish foundation.
