WSOPE Main Event: Thorsten77 and BongBob Make It to Day 2

The WSOP Europe in London played out its first day, with 78 players qualifying for Day 2. Amongst them we have Team PokerStrategy.com Thorsten77 and BongBob, as well as PokerStrategist Fabstinho.

A field of 137 players joined the Casino at the Empire in London for this year's WSOP Europe. After six levels of play, Day 1A was over and only 78 were left standing.

Thorsten77 (pictured right) and BongBob were amongst the ones who managed to survive the day. The Team PokerStrategy.com members finished Day 1A ranked 20th and 43rd respectively, meaning that they will be going to Day 2. They will be joined by PokerStrategist fabstinho, who also made it through, finishing in 21st place.

Nazgul was unfortunately eliminated in the last level of play, when the blinds were 250/500 with 50 chip antes. He went all in for 20 big blinds from the small blind, holding Q-Q. The big blind called and showed A-5, but the board ran 5-6-7-K-5 and our player was sent packing.

Other notable names that were eliminated on Day 1A include Phil Hellmuth, Howard Lederer, Michael Mizrachi, Annette Obrestad. Amongst the first day survivors we have the likes of Huck Seed, Leo Margets, Chris Ferguson, Erik Seidel and Jeff Lisandro.
