The Chino show: Mayhem at Palms cage

We reported on some particularly underhand dealings by David "Chino" Rheem last week. In a thread on 2+2, Will Molson, Joseph Cheong and even Tom “durrrr” Dwan popped in to announce that they were owed money by Rheem.

Rumour has it that if Chino's creditors formed a line it would stretch around the world seven times, something which the casino staff at the Palms in Las Vegas should bear in mind; Chino has just this moment taken down the inaugural Epic Poker League Main Event for $1 million, beating Erik Seidel heads-up for the title.

It's been an astonishing week for the former WSOP Main Event finalist and WPT winner; having been exposed for scamming dozens of players it will be interesting to see just how many of them get repaid from Chino’s Epic novelty cheque. You can read our full review of Chino's win here.

AGA spends over $600k lobbying

Gambling911 today reports that the "American Gaming Association (AGA) spent $641,621.09 lobbying the federal government in the second quarter on issues related to the legalization of Internet poker".

It's apparent that the AGA increased lobbying spend by $281,015.61 from last year's second quarter numbers and reflects a positive intention in the US since Black Friday to regulate online poker in the US once and for all.

"FakeGusHansen" on form

Since Full Tilt Poker's infamous demise we haven’t heard much noise from Danish superstar and ladies man, Gus Hansen.

In fact, most of the recent news resounding from the Hansen camp has been negative; his rumoured girlfriend, tennis player Caroline Wozniacki was spotted canoodling Rory McIlroy. He then suffered a painful loss in the semi-finals of the WSOP $25k Heads-up Championship to Jake Cody, and after that, we saw no more from him at this year's WSOP.

Fortunately for Gus fans in need of an update, there's always "FakeGusHansen" on Twitter; The fake account may have half the Twitter followers of "RealGusHansen", but you can be sure that it's at least twice as funny.

If you haven't checked it out yet, you must. This week's favourite comment has to be: "Brian Rast is a good dude. And it looks like we enjoy the same things. Slow rolling Phil Hellmuth and gigantic breasts".

Eldar banks solid week at PLO tables

This week it was an Australian's turn to dominate at the high stakes PLO tables. The week's biggest winner was David "Deldar182" Eldar who banked a tidy $183,406 in 10,136 hands spread across 193 sessions. 

The ever consistent Rui "PepperoniF" Cao chalked up a $119,137 win over the week and PokerStars Team Pro Theo "Theo J" Jorgensen had a successful week with $143,721 added to his bankroll. 

The biggest donator last week was 6 max PLO specialist Alexey "LuckyGump" Makarov who was setback to the tune of $239,375. 

Lock, stock and barrel: Margets on board

Spanish poker star and crowd favourite Leo Magrets has this week become the latest addition to the LockPRO Elite team at Lock Poker.

Margets currently sits sixth in Spain's all time money earning list and is respected as one of the best all-round European female poker players. Her signing "is a dream come true for Lock", according to Lock Poker CEO Jennifer Larson.

She joins an already impressive team lineup including including Chris Moorman, Eric Lynch and Matt Stout.
