WPT News
Plans for growth for the World Poker Tour are fairly apparent right now, as two WPT tournaments are currently running.
The huge field over at the Borgata in Atlantic City has now been shrunk down to just 27 players, with Will "The Thrill" Failla the name on everyone's lips as he strives to win back to back WPTs.
It is Failla who holds the chiplead after day three, sitting as he does with 3,255,000 chips. There's a long way to go however, and he’ll have to get through the likes of Doug Kim, Darren Elias, Matt Glantz and Vanessa Selbst if he's to record a memorable victory. Live updates can be found here.
Meanwhile over on this side of the pond, the WPT Malta is in full flow. You can catch all of day 1b's action over in our report. As it stands, Fabien Sartoris takes the chip lead into day 2 with 127,350 chips. It's a field littered with big names, with Phil Hellmuth, Isaac Haxton, Justin Bonomo and William Thorson still in the mix.
Robl blogs, puts foot in mouth
High stakes pro Andrew Robl isn’t renowned for being the most popular poker player on the planet. The young American hasn't exactly helped his situation in his latest blog post, (The)"State of online poker in America".
Within his page long diatribe, Robl addresses the subject of Full Tilt Poker, believing that if the alleged French investment deal for FTP falls through, "the chances of USA players getting repaid in full becomes nearly non-existent".
He goes on to speak of the risks of playing on any site that accepts USA players and more specifically Cake and Everleaf Poker, and admits being privy to sensitive financial information concerning Cake Poker.
Posters over at 2+2 have questioned Robl's reasoning for keeping quiet about such information and Robl has put it down "mostly due to laziness" and for "selfish reasons, such as having money on cake and liking some people at the companies".

WCOOP
Yesterday saw the conclusion of four more WCOOP events over on PokerStars. The biggest of the four was the climax of the previous day's $1050 NL tournament, which saw Mexico's "jdtjpoker" take the bracelet and the $182,340 top prize.
Next up was the $215 1R1A, taken down by "CASINO ROYAL" of the UAE. Top spot in this one was worth $87,301.08.
There was a Dutch winner on the podium in the next tournament, with "PjotrNL" scooping the $78,496 on offer for winning the $215 Big Antes tournament.
Yesterday's proceedings finished with the $320 Omaha H/L tournament, eventually won by Finland's "mnstrkll" who shipped the bracelet and $48,978 for first place.
Life on the road
This week we're invited into the world of high stakes pro Alec Torelli; the twenty-four year old US pro has been on something of an adventure this past year, and the fruits of his travels have been compressed into a documentary series.
The extent of Torelli's talents are apparent for all to see, as he is both creator and producer of the show. You guessed it, Torelli is also the star of the show, who'd have thought it!
