Top 5 Most Embarrassing TV Poker Hands

We take a look at some of the biggest poker bloopers ever caught on screen.

In honour of the upcoming PokerStrategy.com TV World Championship, we decided to take a look back at some of the most embarrassing poker hands ever shown on TV. Not all of you PokerStrategists are going to walk away from our TV World Championship with the big money, but as long as you can steer clear of these bloopers, you can hold your head high:

5: Jennifer Tilly vs Patrik Antonius

OK, we admit it, this is perhaps not the worst played hand in the history of televised poker (But it is close), but as you will discover from the video, this is a very entertaining video to watch for lots of reasons, and the look on Phil Ivey's face at the end is priceless.

4: Slowroll at the 2010 World Cup of Poker

The PokerStars World Cup of Poker is supposed to be a good natured tournament to allow the best players in the world represent their home nation. This hand, however, between Germany and Canada is possibly going to set back International relations a few years. Cornils, the villain, later insisted he was tanking simply because he was so nervous as it was his first major live game, and not slow rolling, see whether you believe him.

3: Andrew Robl Runs It Four Times

The first of two hands where it could be argued that running it four times was a bad idea. In this hand Andrew Robl overplays one pair in PLO and defies the odds vs Patrik Antonius.

2: Hellmuth vs Loose Cannon, Phil Laak, Daniel Negreanu, and Tony G

This hand was voted the best poker hand of the year in 2010 by just about everyone, because it has so many funny layers to it. It features a slow roll, a massive suck out, and a Hellmuth blow up . On top of that you have the world class rub downs by Laak, Negreanu, and Tony G, and even Doyle quietly smiling to himself while all the chaos ensues is fun to watch.

1: Not Exactly a SuperUser

One of the fundamental theorems of poker is that, if you make your opponent play his hand differently  to how he would play it if yours was face up, you will win money. This guy obviously hasn't heard of this theory...
