WPT Vienna Day 1a: Top Pros in Austria

The WPT Vienna has begun, and the first of two starting days has concluded. Plenty of well-known players are in attendance, including Tatjana Pasalic and McLean Karr who have made an interesting last-longer bet.

Day 1a of the WPT Vienna at the Montesino Casino is in the books. So far, 163 players have paid €3,500 to participate, and that number is expected to increase on Day 1b. All players who have already busted on Day 1a will be allowed to re-enter.

What happened on Day 1a?

Tatjana Pasalic's catsuit bet - Tatjana Pasalic and her boyfriend McLean Karr apparently decided to make a last-longer bet on this tournament. The rules seemed simple at the time: whoever was knocked out first had to wear a catsuit to the first day of the WSOP Main Event this summer. Both players busted, but Karr was out first. He got off on a technicality, however, when he argued he's not really out until he busts on Day 1b. Pasalic argued, but Karr thankfully found support from the countless men who still had high hopes of seeing Pasalic in a catsuit. The bet is on for Day 1b.

The leader - The current chipleader is Austrian David Breitfuss. His results suggest he rarely travels outside of Austria for tournaments, but he has had some success within the country - especially in lower buy-in events. He will bring 185,500 chips with him to Day 2 on Thursday.

Early bustouts - Although they will have a chance to enter the event again on Day 1b, some players who busted on Day 1a include Mike Watson, Martin Jacobson, McLean Karr, Vanessa Selbst, Steve O'Dwyer, Tatjana Pasalic, Andy Frankenberger, James Akenhead, and Faraz Jaka.

Day 1b will begin today at 13:00 CET.
