Dominik Kofert’s Interview
How did PokerStrategy.com become so successful? A combination of quality, catering to players and word of mouth.
In a recent interview, PokerStrategy.com CEO Dominik "" Kofert explained how the site came into existence and the reason for its phenomenal success.
Indeed, with over 1.1 billion page views in the last year, PokerStrategy.com is by far the largest poker resource in the world.
Throughout the interview, Dominik discusses many aspects of the company, including his thoughts on the US market:
“The US market is an opportunity ... a big chance for us, because historically we never took any US customers. We have always been on the paranoid side when it comes to the legal thing. Now, of course, regulation is approaching in the US and we are seeking to play a role there. We are talking to many companies in that space.”

Another Few Drops
The $1 million WSOP One Drop tournament added a few more drips to its roster this week with the announcement of Erik Seidel and a cohort of chief executives from a private college lender and stock trading firm.
With 30 players now confirmed, the first prize will top $12.3 million, meaning that it will become the largest prize in poker history – even more than Jamie Gold’s historic 2006 Main Event win.
Of the 30 well funded players to enter, only 10 are professional players, with the rest of the field comprising of billionaire businessmen such as Guy Laliberte and Phil Ruffin.
By the time the cards are in the air, it’s expected that the full quota of 48 players will be met; this situation would gift the winner a staggering $18.3 million.
In total, 11% of the prize pool will be donated to the One Drop charity, an organisation founded by Guy Laliberte with the intention of increasing access to clean water in deprived countries.
Laak of Action for Phil
Over 36 hours of play and Phil Laak is still going strong with over €160,000 in profit in Party Poker’s Big Game. While players have come and gone, Laak has remained a constant in the game, outlasting the likes of Scott Seiver, Tony G and Sam Trickett.
By far the most frustrated player in the game has been Sam Trickett who tweeted: “Couldn't be more angry at myself right now! Get so mad when I don't go with my read.”
The UK pro eventually left the game earlier today after dropping €50,000. His exit left just Andrew Moseley and Phil Laak at the table.
The pair played for around 30 minutes before Moseley bowed out leaving Laak as the last man standing. An opponent soon emerged in the form of Scott Baumstein who’d been watching Laak from afar. Baumstein made a small profit before the game took a break.

Lederer Reviews Pocket Kings
Apparently Howard Lederer has a sister that isn’t Annie Duke and it seems as though she’s a budding book reviewer. Katy Lederer has just had a review published in the New York Times. The title of the book? Pocket Kings, by Ted Heller.
It seems the son of Catch-22 author Joseph Heller has written a book based on a failed writer turned online poker player.
According to Lederer: “Heller is facile with structure and plot, and his sentences and paragraphs are clear and often vivid.”
High Stakes Corner
“mikki696” scored the biggest win at the virtual felt yesterday with a profit of $138,729. Also putting in strong sessions were Alexander “Kanu7” Millar and Ben “Ben86” Tollerene, who banked $125,139 and $60,152 respectively.
Falling off the winners' bandwagon in the past 24 hours was 
JensKyllonen. The aggressive Finn lost $108,632 over the course of 1,277 hands. He was closely followed by Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies, who dropped $107,132 in just 683 hands.
