Weather wilts WPT Venice field

Marvin still in

Adverse weather conditions conspired to keep many players away from the latest WPT event in Venice.

However, despite many players being sidelined by the snow, 65 players still managed to make it to Casino di Venezia for Day 1A of the €3,300 Main Event.

Among those braving the elements and stacking chips throughout the day were Marvin 'xcrash154' Rettenmaier (129,600) and Dan Junglemandan Cates (13,000).

The two PokerStrategists survived a chip cull that saw 33 players hit the rail and amateur, Stephen Behm, top the chip counts.

Scooping 188,000 chips, Behm currently leads the way; however, with Day 1B currently taking place, he'll face some stiff competition when the two fields converge tomorrow.

PokerStrategist's MicroMillions success

This year's MicroMillions was a huge success for many involved, including PokerStategy.com members 'rhonin69' and 'noeschi'.

In yesterday's Daily Rewind we recapped 'rhonin69''s Main Event success and today we can congratulate 'noeschi' for his victory in Event #94.

The German pro outlasted 17,803 players to scoop the $5.50 rebuy event for $21,650.

The win contributed to another impressive performance by Germany who finished the series as the second most successful country behind Russia.
