Following the news that the EPT and WPT finales will clash, the latter's President, Adam Pliska, has moved to publically address the situation.

With a number of pros airing their concerns that they will be forced to choose one or the other next April, Pliska stated that he's been "in close discussion with EPT organizers to find the best solution for players".

However, despite pushing for a different date, the Borgata and the WPT were unable to avoid a conflict, but Pliska still believes there's only the "slightest overlap and players can play both events".

One player who won't be racing across the Atlantic in order to play both events will be Daniel Negreanu.

Throwing his weight behind the EPT, Daniel tweeted: "Based on scheduling conflict with EPT Grand Final and a move to AC, 2014 will mark the first year I won't be playing the WPT Championship."

Indeed, despite Pliska's insistence that players can enjoy both festivals, it seems that many are now facing a choice between the two.

Stars to visit the Isle of Man

Having recently announced the Isle of Man as UKIPT's newest destination, PokerStars' festival will welcome a slew of pros when the action gets underway later this month.

Although the £1,000+£100 buy-in might be somewhat lower than many stars are used to, that doesn't seem to be much of a concern to the likes of David Williams, Barry Greenstein and Daniel Negreanu.

Keen to see the island PokerStars' HQ calls home, the roster of famous faces will line-up against some of Europe's keenest grinders in a bid for a slice of the £500,000 guaranteed prizepool.

Indeed, David Williams stated that he's "excited" to play in a "friendly event" when the action kicks off on October 31.

With the excitement of the WSOP fading, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier has taken some time to reflect on his summer.

Writing in his latest blog, Grospellier looked back on his time scaring children at Comic Con "the biggest comic, TV, game nerds gathering in the world", playing table tennis in Timor and enjoying dinner at Tokyo's Robot Restaurant.

After a relatively successful run of tournaments at the WSOP, Grospellier decided to get away from poker with a whistle-stop tour of the US and Asia.

The post is essentially a rundown of his top five moments from the last couple of months and an interesting look at life away from the felt for one of the game's top grinders.

'bbvisbadforme' made a rare appearance at the top of the high stakes chart yesterday thanks to a $151,200 haul.

Coming over the course of 1,458 hands, the six-figure profit was enough to put him ahead of established nosebleeders 'Sanlker' ($126,684) and 'SallyWoo' ($86,460).

While 'bbvisbadforme' was making a name for himself at the top end of the profit chart, Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom was confirming his status as the world's most chaotic grinder.

Having enjoyed a recent winning stretch, the Swede topped yesterday's deficit leaderboard after $164,331 loss.
