Barry Greenstein dominates Play Money
Yes you read that correctly, high stakes star Barry Greenstein has won the Play Money Sunday Billion twice in five weeks on PokerStars.
Normally when we report on famous poker players winning major tournaments for the second time, it is usually accompanied by huge dollar amounts, but not this one.
We have recently discovered that high stakes legend Barry Greenstein has won the PokerStars Sunday Billion twice in the last five weeks. In case you were wondering why you had never heard of this event, it is because it is the flagship PokerStars MTT.....for Play Money.
Clearly it's not just about the money with Greenstein, who is a regular in this tournament. He is doing it in part because he is one of the stand-out ambassadors in poker, and also because Play Money is the only thing you can play on PokerStars in the US right now.
143,780,000 in Play Money winnings
Greenstein explained his attendance in these games to the PokerStarsBlog:
"People continually thank me for playing with them when I play in play money games. They are serious recreational players and wouldn't ever have a chance to play with a professional player if some of us didn't take some time to play in events like these."
"It's always fun to win when you've conditioned yourself to be a successful poker player. Of course I realise it's not real money but you can sometimes just view online play, whether for cash or for fun, as playing to get bigger numbers on the screen than your opponents, which is kind of like playing a video game."
For his efforts, Greenstein has amassed a bankroll of 143,780,000 Play Money chips (Which, believe it or not, could be worth around $718, for those people that actually buy and sell Play Money chips).
