EPT to use four colour decks

Ahead of the new season, some exciting new additions are announced for the EPT, including new rules on using technology at the tables.

The European poker Tour is back

Next week marks the start of the 12th season of the European Poker Tour, once again kicking off in Barcelona.

Head of Live Poker Operations Neil Johnson has blogged about a number of changes coming to the tour this season. 

USB ports will be at every seat position at the table, meaning you can charge your smartphones and tablets while playing. Laptops will also be allowed at the table, but their power cords will not be

While technology is welcome, broadcasting your play at the table using apps like Periscope and Meerkat will not be allowed

New formats are being added, including Sextuple Omaha, Quintuple Stud, Quintuple Draw, Splitsville Dealer's Choice, High Hand Holdem, Allin or Fold (in games other than Holdem), Big Bet Mix and Dealer's Choice HORSE

Maybe most interesting of all is that certain events will trial a four colour deck for the first time on the live tour. 

He also stated that a new city is being added to the tour this year, but didn't give away which one.
