Pleno1 wins WCOOP event
Patrick Leonard won six-figures and the bracelet after defeating another PokerStrategist heads-up.
Our very own Pleno1 is once again crushing the online MTT scene, with the biggest online title of his career so far.
Over the weekend he took down his first ever World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) title.
He outlasted a field of 959 players in the WCOOP #17: $700 Six Max Triple Stack.
He took down $108,415.51 after he defeated fellow PokerStrategist heads-up. The runner-up from our Russian community banked an impressive $81,311.21.
And what a defeat it was, as in the penultimate hand, our hero left his opponent with a single chip, compared to his 2,098,529.
Patrick had an amazing 2014 in the online MTTs and had this to say after his win:
I'm so, so, so over the moon. I played yesterday and was really pleased. Previously I was fucking good at closing out tournaments when there was 30 people left, but this year I think some ego set in and I didn't hold back enough and played too loose in too many spots. Yesterday I went all the way through the gears.
