Poker revenues down at PokerStars

We recap some stories you may have missed including another Super High Roller win for a recreational player and a sick four way nosebleed hand.

Poker just 30% of revenues at Stars

The Stars Group released their second quarter earnings this week and reported a 20% decrease in share price, despite increasing total revenues by 51%. 

The biggest finding perhaps being that online poker made up just 30% of its revenue, down from 53% in the same quarter last year and following the group's acquisition of sportsbook Sky Betting & Gaming. However, while the overall percentage is down, poker revenues have stayed quite consistent year-on-year for the last three years. 

Sports betting made up for 36% of revenues compared to 16% the same time last year, while online casino made up 31%, up from 25% last year. 

Another businessman wins a Triton High Roller event

The Triton High Roller events really seem to have an emphasis on giving the rich recreational players a chance to win and it seems to be working. 

Last week Aaron Zang took down the Triton Million and last night Turkish businessman Orpen Kisacikoglu just won the €100,000 Triton High Roller at MILLIONS Europe in Rozvadov. 

He defeated a stellar 32-entry field at a final table that included Wai Kin Yong, Kristen Bicknell and Ben Heath to take down the €1,040,000 first prize.

Speaking of which, a standout hand from that event. However, watching Kristen Bicknell sup her tea and Ivey eat his dinner while it goes down really underplays the fact this is a €100,000 buy-in tournament:
