Hellmuth's next opponent is Tom Dwan

Will the streak end with The Poker Brat's old rival taking him on for $200,000?

After a strange match-up last time against recreational player Nick Wright, Phil Hellmuth once again takes on one of poker's elite players this month in the form of Tom Dwan.

Because Wright did not continue in the three match challenge, Dwan officially becomes the 'Round 2' opponent for Hellmuth, meaning the buy-in will be $100,000 rather than $50,000, with the potential for at least one $200,000 rematch afterwards.

The match will take place on PokerGO on August 25:

Hellmuth currently sits on seven straight victories in High Stakes Duel - three against Antonio Esfandiari, three against Daniel Negreanu and one against Nick Wright. This is the first time he has been drawn against an opponent known for being an elite heads-up player and is perhaps his toughest match yet.

The two men have previous form against each other. Dwan famously beat Hellmuth in the NBC Heads-Up Championship in 2008 leading to an infamous blow up from The Poker Brat where he commented "let's see if he is around in 10 years" and led to Dwan challenging hellmuth heads-up several times over. Now, 13 years later, that rematch is finally happening.

Will Hellmuth make it 8-0? Let us know in the comments:
