Galfond wins 4th heads-up challenge

Brandon Adams conceded giving Phil four out of four, with Jungleman set to be his next opponent.

While the world awaits whether Phil Hellmuth can keep his remarkable heads-up streak going another Phil is quietly accomplishing an even more impressive series of back-to-back heads-up wins. 

Last night Brandon Adams conceded in his heads-up PLO challenge against Phil Galfond. Phil won around $170,000 at the tables and another $100,000 in the form of a side bet. 

That makes it four out of four victories for Phil in the challenge having previously defeated Chance Kornuth, VeniVidi1993 and Ionnis Kontonatsios.

The match was only around 30% of the way through the agreed 10,000 hands. It was a rare heated match for Galfond, who briefly had a falling out with Adams over the time he was taking to make decisions. The match started live but the two agreed to play the remainder of it out online. 

Jungleman is next?

It looks like Galfond's next opponent could be Daniel 'Jungleman' Cates if this clip from his podcast interview with Adams is anything to go by. He cut a WWE style promo that is very NSFW and looks like he is ready to go to the PLO streets against Phil.

There is also the small matter of his match with Bill Perkins, which has been paused until the two men are in the same place together to be able to play online again. Luke Schwartz is also a name that has been touted as a potential opponent for Galfond, but that looks less likely.
