Another record breaking field in Europe
Four-figure fields in both Monaco and Malta this week, with a player from France taking down the latter for €100k.
Over in Monaco, we have a record-breaking field in the EPT Main Event with 1,208 players. Normally that would mean that the rest of Europe has low tournament fields, but not so.
Over in Malta, for a 10th of the buy-in size, the Malta Poker Festival has just attracted a record field of its own.
A staggering 1,460 entries for the €550 Main Event more than doubled the €300,000 guarantee. The previous record was 1,444.
Players from seven countries were represented at the final table but it was Jordan Dumas of France who took it down for €100,900, after defeating Sebastian Mortensen of Denmark heads-up.
Qualifiers for this event took place on Unibet and the next iteration of this festival takes place, once again, at the Portomaso Casino in St Julian's on October 28.
