Player banned for having preflop charts open on stream

WPT Global have insta-banned a Twitch streamer who had what they considered to be RTA visible on stream.

Real time assistance poses one of the greatest threats to the online game imaginable, but as long as those who do it out themselves as easily as this, poker has a chance. 

A Twitch streamer has been banned from WPT Global when he was caught using GTO range charts live on stream. 

Alan 'AlanFPoker' Finn, a streamer from Ireland, was playing on the site when two excel charts with hand ranges popped up on screen. 

Normally when stories like this occur the player has been consulting software like GTO Wizard. In this case it looks like screen shots of preflop hand ranges saved into a spreadsheet. One of them was named 'Moms Shopping List' which seemed like a tongue-in-cheek admission that the chart was prohibited. 

Some sites allow players to look at preflop ranges charts, others do not, but WPT Global's rules are clear on this, they state:

Players are required to make their own decisions when playing, without the aid of any information other than that obtained during the Players’ own play.

The player in question was also advertising a mass data analysis (MDA) service, something which is also prohibited by a lot of online poker sites. 

This is one of many instances of a player with prohibited tools visible when they are recording themselves playing online poker. Perhaps the most high profile example of which is Nacho Barbero, who lost his sponsorship because of it. 

It is also an important reminder to all poker players that what they might not consider to be RTA, might still be prohibited by the poker rooms they play on. In 2025 and beyond it is a very important practice to shut down everything other than the poker room while playing online.
