Martin Kabrhel wins fourth WSOP bracelet in Mini Main Event

The Czech poker star won the fourth bracelet of his career after talking his opponents to defeat again.

Martin Kabrhel won the fourth World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet of his career in Las Vegas last night after conquering the $1,000-entry Mini Main Event.

After just five players came back to battle for the $843,140 top prize, Kabrhel, with fans on the rail seemingly waiting for his catchphrases, didn’t disappoint his followers.

After Bartlomiej Swieboda, John Ishak and Vadzim Lipauka all left the action, Kabrhel went into the heads-up with Alexander Yen holding more than double his opponent’s chips, and promptly sealed the deal when ace-king beat ace-four to end the event in his favour.

Not Like That?

As he has throughout the 56th annual World Series of Poker, Kabrhel cut a curious figure at the felt, often repeating his well-worn phrase ‘Not like that’ to anyone who would listen and in seemingly any circumstance. Pots that went Kabrhel’s way did so by the Czech professional revealing his cards slowly with the quip: “Casino Royale”. In the final hand, the crowd did his work for him, saying the lines before their hero.

“Everybody loves me!” Kabrhel laughed as he inspected his newest bracelet, asking the dealer if they could ‘add a few more diamonds’ to the gold wristwear. When asked how he felt about the manner in which he’d won, Kabrhel was bullish.

“Eight or ten people in the entire field didn’t like it, everyone else loved it.”

Having won the Mini Main Event, Kabrhel immediately hopped into the $10,000-entry WSOP Main Event, running up a stack of 168,700 as he easily made Day 2.
