Heads-up for rolls pays off for Bobby James as he wins over $750,000
The $200/$400 game formed part of the Cash Game World Championship on CoinPoker and saw Bobby James thrill poker fans watching on stream as he dominated the duel.

The poker cash game player Bobby James turned two live streams into a stunning score of half a million dollars on CoinPoker last night. Taking on the popular gambling streamer and former Dutch football manager Stanley Menzo, James not only held his own but ended up winning over $750,000 across two spectacular sessions of No Limit Hold’em.
Running from November 10th to December 7th, the High Stakes Cash Game World Championship on CoinPoker sees players battling at rake-free No Limit Hold’em with up $100,000 on offer in prizes. Bobby James is one of the site’s most consistent players, and despite dipping from his bankroll of $36,840 to start the game, he recovered in stunning fashion against his famous sporting opponent.
A Dutch football manager and former professional player, Menzo spent ten seasons playing for Ajax Amsterdam, the most decorated club in Dutch football. Menzo, who played more than 300 times and went to a World Cup and European Championship as part of the Netherlands national team, now frequents the online poker tables and regularly shares his action on stream, doing so on both occasions in this battle against Bobby James.
How the Games Were Won
Menzo played an extravagant style of poker, frequently raising and re-raising aggressively. Initially, this had a positive effect, as James lost almost half of his stack in the first few hands. A series of excellent calls brought the eventual winner back into contention, however, and deep into the five-hour opening session, a call with just J♠5♠ on a board of A♣K♣6♡4♠4♢ was successful, as Menzo showed just 3♡2♡ for a busted gutshot straight draw.
“This might be the dumbest spot in my life,” James had said before clicking the call button and looking away from the screen. When he came back to it, his stack was over $300,000, and he let out an ‘Oh my God’.
That upward trend continued for James as he ended the session up by $455,000. Things were to get even better on Wednesday as he returned to the felt to take on Menzo again. In the second session, James was ahead when the key hand took place. On an eight-high flop, Menzo’s shove with ace-eight was wild in the extreme, being it was for $140,000. James said that he ‘had to call’ with pocket jacks and did so, running it twice and winning on both runouts to bump his stack by six figures again. Ending the second session on over $317,000, his winnings amounted to over three-quarters of a million dollars.
