World Champion 2007

Jerry Yang won the main event of the 2007 World Series of Poker. His salary for one week of hard work: The golden bracelet and $8,25 million!

6358 players payed the $10,000 buy-in and played for the title "World Champion of No Limit Texas Hold'em 2007". The total prize pool was $59,784,954 giving the winner $8,250,000!

The winner and World Champion 2007 is Jerry Yang!

Jerry Yang is 39 years old. He has a Masters Degree in psychology and lives in South California. He was born in Laos and came to the US as a refugee. He started playing poker two years ago and won his ticket in a $225 satellite tournament. Because he knows from his own life what it means to be poor he gives 10% of his winnings to the following charity organizations:

  • Make-A-Wish-Foundation
  • Feed the Children
  • Ronald McDonald House.
