Triton Jeju sees big wins for Ben Tollerene, Paul Phua and Daniel Dvoress

A total of 20 events saw famous victories, as Malaysian co-founder Paul Phua won the 10 Year Anniversary Special and Ben Tollerene claimed his second Triton Main Event.

The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series hosted 20 events in Jeju, South Korea, as some of the world’s best poker players attempted to win Triton titles and millions of dollars. When the dust settled, it was a great series for the co-founder of the series itself, along with new winners and big names doubling down on their past successes.

In the Triton Jeju Main Event, it was Ben Tollerene who won the $100,000 buy-in tournament, winning the top prize of $3,766,000 after he outlasted a final table that featured Sean Winter, Elton Tsang and Tollerene’s heads-up opponent, Philip Sternheimer. Also making it to the final four was Kristen Foxen, who cashed for $1,449,000, as she closed in on several records in the women’s game. 

While YouTube's removal of Triton videos during the series cast a momentary shadow over proceeedings, the spotlights were soon shining brightly again, this time on the Austrian player Bernhard Binder. He enjoyed the second biggest prize of his incredible poker career so far as he won the $125,000 NLHE 7-Max High Roller event for $2.13m. Taking the title just a few months after winning the WSOP Super Main Event for $10m, Binder’s victory came after he got the better of Triton regulars Wai Kiat Lee and the indomitable Jesse Lonis at the final table.

Co-founder Phua reigns supreme in anniversary event

There was a very special 10th Anniversary event taking place during the Jeju series, with an eye-watering entry fee of $150,000 yielding 81 entries. When the dust settled, there was a fitting winner, as the Triton cofounder and Malaysian businessman Paul Phua (right) took home the $3.22 million top prize after beating the American Brandon Wilson heads-up.

Phua cashed again in Event #18, the $75,000 buy-in event, which had 60 runners. He fell in seventh place, however, leaving Alex Foxen to win the $1.26 million top prize after defeating Finnish pro Eelis Pärssinen heads-up. Foxen’s results across the Triton ONE and Super High Roller Series festivals in Jeju put him ninth on the All-Time Money List and his victory represented the 10th time he had cashed for seven figures in his illustrious poker career.

Finally, the last event saw Daniel Dvoress win the $100,000 Short Deck tournament for a top prize of $1.38 million. The result was a great one for the Canadian but just as important perhaps was that he defeated Jason Koon heads-up. The West Virginian, who won his 12th Triton title to extend his record haul in Montenegro in late 2025, previously defeated Ben Tollerene to claim his 11th win in the series. This time, he missed out, leaving Dvoress to claim the Triton trophy and his own seven-figure score instead.
