Hey!

I'm Finnish MTT professional planning to move in Tenerife. I was just wondering which sites can I play? I need to be Resident before can open Stars.es, Partypoker.es etc. or Is it enough if I have address in Spain.

I was last year in Barcelona and one of the liveregulars from Casino told me that it would be possible to play at least Winamax.fr? I play midstakes around ABI 50 - 60$, just wonder if my income will decrease by moving Spain.

Sorry for posting this in English, it's just because I don't speak even one world of Spanish.

Hello Partane: I will look into it and get back to you with an aswer.

As far as i kwon the trafic is not so great but you could still make a living with those stakes.

Cheers

Ok partane, just checked with some spanish friends and they tell me that on PS.es there are 3 40E + tournamets daily (/2 fifty euro and 1 100 euro) the fields are around 100 players. there are 4 30BI tourneys 1 20+rBI tourney and thats it.

On weekends there are more tourneys (but not much more)

i guess that in order to be able to play in Spain you have to present some proves that you are living there but that i am not sure.

Hope this is helpfull.

Hey!

Thanks for fast response. You didn't really tell me anything I wasn't aware. I'm familiar with ES.sites trafic and games running, just hoping to get more information about other sites I could add (like winamax.fr).

I find out that I need at least address proof like bank statement, utility bill etc. to open accounts to ES.sites so I might have open Spanish bank account or at least get apartment from Spain before I can open any accounts, so it might take some time to verify all documents before I can start working there. (Or maybe I have 30 days to verify my address, not sure.)

I'm hoping I had some sites to play as well during this process... So far I know 2 x sites where I can play from Spain. Other one is Winamax.fr (I will confirm this from their support) and other one is Closed Finnish Network RAY which doesn't have any limitations to play in Spain.

Got answer from winamax.fr...

Hello Aleksi,

Thanks for contacting us here at the Winamax support team.

You are permitted to play on Winamax from any location where the local law allows you to play on an online poker site licenced in France.

You should verify the local legislation before connecting to Winamax.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards,
Robert Backus
Winamax Support Team

Also someone asked same in 2+2 and got answer:

Hi there,

I don't really see what more I could say to be more explicit.

Our licence in France permits us to accept players from anywhere in the EU. However, there are certain countries which have similar laws to France which prevents players from those countries playing on our site.

We operate our site according to the rules set out by our regulator in France. While we do try our best to keep up with the laws in all other countries, it is also down to the players themselves to ensure that they are following the laws of their country of residence.

So as I said in my previous reply, if the law in Spain says that you may not play on a site that does not have a Spanish licence, then you should not play on Winamax.

I hope this is clear enough for you

Basically I would understand this the way that you can play, but it's your own responsibility since Winamax.fr ins't paying any taxes to Spain.
But they will anyway accept sign-ups from Spain, so they don't lock your account if you play from Spain.

Ok, thanks for tips. :f_biggrin:

Finland is really expensive place to live so I hoping to move somewhere anyway. I guess I will just have to try and go there for few weeks and see if I can work there or not...

There are a few guys with 50k euro/year profit playing MTTs in Spain. You could count them with the fingers of one hand, which means is not easy at all, but if you are good enough...
