I use it for mobile internet for laptop for playing poker, as my girlfriend is very mobile in lifestyle and doesn't allow a cable router.

I now also put PureWriter app to write stuff. This is pretty much all I know about smartphones.

What is your experience? Would you recommend this solution or switch to physical router? What other ways can smartphones be used?

I have moved your question to our Computers and technology section. There fits it better.
I would expect if you have a physical router you have a better and faster connection, but I'm not a expert on this and could be totally wrong.

If you are paying money to route data through your phone, this can get expensive very quickly.
Also, the speeds you can achieve using a phone are much less than with a wired connection.

Well yes it kind of has the capacity of being a pretty good mobile router, so whenever she decides to move to other real estate or drive somewhere with us, i can still play from laptop. She is against permanent physical router on the property that she rents, even though ISP-s provide it everywhere with cable and you get much faster internet speed with the same price. Im getting used to this mobile lifestyle, phones can be a lot of fun, and they are quite small which makes the player more invisible even. One thing is though that i sometimes forget where i put my phone, it is so small and hard to find... laptop i never forget where i put.

She recommends the same solution that she uses, mobile phone company ISP solution to your personal phone, which is big enough for poker and is unlimited for ~20eur/month in Estonia. I use it, i wasnt much of a phone person before the relationship. Looks like she never settles anywhere for a long time

If a plan like that was available, and I was as unsettled now as I was in my twenties, I would jump at that deal.

My mobile plan costs CAD $39 + tax, and allows 50GB data per month. Unlimited talk & text within Canada, and fairly generous overseas calling (but not USA).

Cable internet from Canadian ISP looks nice : )) but we have son going to school now in Estonia (Northern Europe). So I need to really listen what the family says :f_thumbsup:
