theory:i am personally calling their 3bet a littler looser that i would normally do
and shove AJ+
practice:i don't know where you've seen that...........

Just play it as usual without reads really. Don't develop some superstition that players are always bluffing and then you start jamming them really wide and see they just had a good hand

My 4bet/all in range is AJ, 88+ maybe 77 sometimes. It's important to know it's very unlikely your dominated when you have a pair. But against pretty much all players i think i can do much better by playing then like a 52% favorite coinflip so that's why with 88+ you can still be ahead by a decent amount vs like A2-7 and smaller pairs. It's very +EV to shove any pair lategame though.

This is something I've been having lots of difficulty/variance with. I get it in super light for value in the first hand of a match because of bum hunters.

Last week I got a5 in for value and obv didn't hold.

It's something that will change as poker develops/grows. I generall 3bet supppper wide in the first hand just incase somebody was loking for a h'n'r.

Getting in pairs, aj+ is probably totally fine, and if you are able to make the shove a8s+, kq+ is probably ok too.

what about BRM? i have deposited to FTP 55$ month ago, now got 443$ playing mostly 1$ rush but recently mainly 6$ heads up. In 6$ HU i have made a profit of 97$ in 44 matches with ROI of 35.3 . My plan was to move up to 500 dollars then start playing 10$ heads up? is it too tight brm?

I'm personally using 30BI brm. You could definetly get away with lower like 20BI brm or even lower . If your a solid winning player and don't tilt/spew away buyins. And move down accordingly. And play reg(speed) ofcourse would not do that with turbo's. Would not recommend that at all. But it's probably possible.

It really more depends on what you feel comfortable playing with. With 20BI brm i feel like losses and wins affect my mood too much so i tilt a lot easier. I think 30BI brm is a nice balance between not too risky/safe and still moving up at a decent pace. I might even increase it to 35 or 40 but not sure yet. If you multitable then i'd definitely not use anything lower then 30 personally.

What do you guys think about Kelly bankroll management? Is it too risky or just an optimal way to move up the limits if you can move down when you need to?

What would be your default stacking off range for HU cash against a reg, w/o history and against a fish
and what about 150bb deep?

Do you know what kind of sample size you need to have an idea of winrate? Maybe winrates are kinda useless HU as it's all about the opponent your playing.

150bb deep is abit weird because there is usually sooooome kind of metagame going on to have a 100bb difference. I do think that 100bbs deep early in a match I will try to get in 99+ AQ+ for pure value, but if its against a deecent reg I'm sometimes happy to get 22+ A10+ 89s+ etc in really light so that it gets the match aggresive, once something changes in a match you should adjust, if you can adjust quicker/better than your opponent then ofc it makes sense to make aggresive moves where he wont adapt accordinglu.

Winrate I'd look at 100k as a very very good sample. 50k is ok and can be reviewed as long as u look at a bunch of hand historys too.

let them spew, call them down. Value bet thinly, overbet for value, depolarise etc etc.

where did u get your single most valuable information about nlhe hu from? (a specific vid, a special coach, a mindblowing article ... )

which hu display do u use? what stats u think are rly helpful for hu nlhe? (im personally not using one 90% and im not sure if thats why i usually pwn hu or if i maybe lose some value in not using it properly for hu. im using it for all other games tho, just not rly in hu)

I think its very important to have a HUD, but I think its even more important to understand when to use it and to understand gameflow is alotttttt more important, if you don't know this you should play without a HUD imo.

The best players in the world, Ivey, Isildur, Durrr, Jungleman, Galfond act on instinct/game flow. It's so important and not really something that you can teach, I guess that stops hard working players from really getting to the next level and sometimes makes them fall out of love with poker.

However sometimes a HUD can be important incase you see a glaring leak that for whatever reason you didn't know before and didn't exploit.

At the moment I have:

Line 1: Raise btn - - Fold to button raise --- Hands Played --- Profit
Line 2: 3bet pre --- fold to 3bet pre --- 4bet pre --- fold to 4bet pre
Line 3: C/R flop --- fold to c/r --- cbet -- fold to cbet,
Line 4: Double barrel -- Fold to double barrel
Line 5: Agg factor flop -- agg factor turn ---- agg factor river

I colour coordinate all the things with the darker the colour the worse the stat and obviously the lighter the colour the more solid the stack.

I also think notes are ridicuously important and I am abit of a notes geek, for example here is the kind of note I would take.

NL400HU 15/5/2011 (this is very important as people really change their style, having a note from a guy in a $10 tournament is different to 400NLHU) Called 3bet after aggro dynamics w/j8s 145bbs deep. Floated 732xcs, bet Kc turn but gave up on 3h river.

Little things like this are more than game flow and more than what a HUD can tell you, some people really react different to different boards and if you find out how they do it and how they react then it is almost like printing moniez <3

In terms of the most important thing. I think a video I watched on CR from Taylor Caby and Brian Townsend, they reviewed one of their students play and something they always spoke about was "going after the guy" they wouldnt call pre and know they'd go after the guy on lots of different boards.

I once discussed a hand regarding Sam Trickett (sicko!) where he turned top pair into a bluff. It absolutely fascinated me and since then I use this move alot (maybe too much and maybe a leak) but I do it alot and even if they make a good call I am putting the guys into difficult spots where they will at least be wary about me in the future and not be able to make standard plays like they would against most bad/breakeven regs.

lol i think it's very important not to have a hud so you get used to being very observant at your opponents game and learn to take notes(which btw are invaluable when compared to some stupid stats)
i would use it full ring or 6 max because it's harder "to track down" so many opponents but in hu i think it's useless unless u have a very big sample size of your opponent's game (5k hands or more)

and for nlhe material i loved colin moshman's book but u may find it pretty basic taking into account the fact that u play so high(yeah i know who u are be proud )

also i found a very good article on 3betting on 2+2 wrote by ronin (sorry i don't have a link)

so say no to hud hu !!!!!!!

Game select well, go to the lobby, if you see a known fish sitting and you have 9-12bis then sometimes give yourself a 2bi stop loss vs him, if you lose then you can grind ti back at smaller stakes, if you win your bankroll gradually inreases.

Having the determination and willingness to be able to go up and down the stakes is crucially important when deciding if/when to move up.
