Dear Santa: Christmas Smalltalk

For a bit of extra seasonal joy (and a few extra SPs too), chat in this forum thread about absolutely anything festive. Share Christmas food recipes, poker rituals, folk and family customs and just make general Christmas small talk.

For each post, we will award 2,5 SP up to a maximum 5 posts a day, starting Monday:

We apologise but for technical reasons the extra SPs assignment will start on Monday: we'll extend the SP promotion for three days to compensate

Ok I'll start.

I like going for a long ass drive on Christmas Day because the roads are actually clear, it's like being in the Walking Dead.

I will take a Christmas holiday with my family to Terschelling. That's always fun and relaxing.

Oooook, I'll share some "struffoli"...

...and our silent celebration for the first of the Year.

Fireworks battle: a tradition in my neighborhood.

If your hearing Christmas jingles then it's most likely the season has began. When you visit a casino it's full of decorations and offer a lot of stuff to its customer. In my house I just set a Christmas tree with lots of gifts on it.

Those Christmas songs get on my nerves. Every year the same songs. Can´t hear them anymore! What about some new ones? But I really go crazy hearing Whams "last Christmas..."!!! _evil:_evil:_evil:

Sorry for beeing the kill-joy but it would be very nice if some people wrote some new songs for Christmas.

Hello everyone, I wish you a colorful and peaceful Christmas in today's turbulent times ... keep your sanity and actively fight for equal rights, as the fight for the final table

I found the most beautyful Christmas song ever!!! Okay, not exactly Christmas, it´s a pagan song about Yule (almost the same as Christmas) and so I guess it counts as Christmas song:

The smoke of wood and resin is in the air
I breathe in this tempting scent
Yule time has come
Yule time has come

In the deepest winter so lonely (are) the nights
It´s winters solstice and Balder* awakens
and sets up the wheel of the sun

The christmas tree in its magnificence
the "Yuleast" is blazing bright in the night
atmospheric silence, atmospheric silence

The light in the sky brings hope
and Thor* swings his hammer wildly
strength for the upcoming year, strength for the upcoming year

Freyr* and Freyas* sensuality
brings love, lust and fertility
life will go on, life will go on

Oh winter solstice the celebration for them
met, grain and blood our gifts to them
eternal recurrence, eternal recurrence

*gods and godesses of the German/nordic (?) mythology.
