Well I suppose 'normal' is a relative expression. for example, is it 'normal' to have all your races win? I bet you've had many days where you just couldn't believe how many times you either held up or outdrew the villains, I know I have. I also know it's very easy to say; 'But I was a huge % favourite, so of course it held!' We list these as 'normal', but it is also normal to go the other way.
I do feel for you though, I have had months of it and it gets you down after a while and you start doubting your decision making. I would not suggest your decision making was wrong by the way.

Here's a couple of good quotes about variance imo that I've gathered from some 2p2 threads:
When you're in a downswing, you are getting put in a disproportionately high amount of tough shitty spots, as well as being shown the nuts disproportional amount of the time, and THAT is what makes you think you're playing worse than you actually are. When you're on an upswing, you're getting put in a disproportionately low amount of tough shitty spots and being shown bluffs a disproportional amount of the time, and THAT is what makes you think you're playing much better than you actually are.
What you need to do as a poker player to survive the variance is to treat it as a challenge to yourself. Where you can’t physically push yourself as in other sports, you need to mentally push yourself to not be bothered by the variance. When you don’t care whether variance is being equally fair to you and everyone else,
**losing in poker is just a competition of how strong you are mentally**
So treat variance as an entity that has the sole purpose of upsetting you to the point where you fall to your knees and cry like a four-year-old, blurry eyes squinting at an EV graph that is in fact the crooked, satisfied smile of variance.
