I'm new to GG Poker but it's interesting because I can look at opponent's stats in game, I just realized, this villain had a tagish lagish stats, though I see that I can't look it up now. I guess you have to write it down while table is opened.

GG Poker - $0.25 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 63.44 BB
Hero (SB): 120.48 BB
BB: 107.32 BB
UTG: 111.16 BB
MP: 105.84 BB
CO: 112.44 BB

Hero posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 5♥ A♣

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, BB calls 2 BB

Flop: (6 BB, 2 players) 9♦ 2♥ 4♦
Hero bets 3.12 BB, BB calls 3.12 BB

Turn: (12.24 BB, 2 players) 3♥
Hero bets 17.4 BB, BB calls 17.4 BB

River: (47.04 BB, 2 players) 3♣
Hero bets ? ? BB

I think you can rule out boat in his range because sets would've raised on flop.

Or does the villain have a draw, like FD?

Or should we continue to use overbet or use a reasonable size to ensure a call vs his value range?

Or maybe check to see if we can induce stabbing?

Thoughts?

Unless opponent is trappy.
I don't think you can rule it out, nor can you rule out 32 or 43 — they're very unlikely, but not impossible especially on GGPoker

As for the river bet sizing, 1/3 to 1/2 will get called from lots of worse hands.
Your hand is well-disguised, but it isn't the nuts. I would hate to see a shove, but I would still call it.

That's what I did. I bet 52% pot on river. Just wondering what others think about this situation.

Bet or check call seems equally fine. Flush draws brick on the river. I will bet with higher frequency

Problem is as well that draws should fold against a 1,5 pot size bet on the turn. It's also interesting to know why you was betting so much on the turn in the first place.

That makes it less likely villian has a missed draw on the river and I would go for a healthy Cbet of around pot size after your huge bet on the turn. Decent change villain has a big hand that he/she can't fold.

The motto on these limits is "draw to the river or death" so we cant exclude flushdraws out of his range. Even backdoors. But the odds of flopping a flushdraw are like 10-11% so we must bet river most of the time

We use overbet for more FE with draws, merged range(in right situations), value range, and bluffs.

Do you really get more to fold ? you fold out some equity with villains floats along with second/third pair hands which fold to a normal sized barrel anyway. Over pairs, top pairs , 2 pairs, trips etc... all still defend vs over bets so your not really folding out anything extra imo. You do manipulate villains range to the strongest possible though by folding out all the second and third pairs and draws which it seems you might want to charge and keep in. I jusrtt over bets as giving yourself a bad price on bluffs and increased fold equity on value hands neither of which are good things. But it doesn't quite work in reverse because of the way you manipulate villains range with the over bets.

So your not ever giving your self extra value on those value hands because of the incresed fold equity you make less long term. And by not folding out really anything extra from villains value range your not picking up ev on bluffs. I just think over bets are one of those things that work great in GTO theory but not so great in a non GTO reality. Just my views on over bets though most probably dont agree i just cant get my head around them as a good idea as i think standard bets do the job i want them to do far better.

Massive overbet is a must tool for every expirienced poker player. If applied well it will increase your winrate "massively" ;)

The answer is complex. Here, I'm overbetting because I understand that the bluffing or semi-bluffing on this board is a bad bad idea, so with that in mind I do it for value knowing that the villain likely will not fold.

I think certain board textures just fries their brain so that their will not fold, ever. Like, the terminator with a top pair no kicker.

So with that in mind, we could even go bigger here, and possibly even just shove this turn. SB vs BB has a different dynamics than the rest of table positions, and it becomes more and more calling stationed as you move up the stakes.

I would expect most calling stations wouldn't play on the higher limits, but you have weaker players on every buy-in Ievel.

On the river 3 barrel. 2x FD out. 99 he would 3 bet preflop, low pair 22,33, 44 he would rerise on the flop or turn, and do not expext call 56s on the flop.

I dont think its spot in which you want to use overbet on turn as BB has more straights. However if you use overbet on turn then you should continue your story and jam river. I dont see any use for 'normal' sizing there. 2 flushdraws missed, river is paired but he shouldnt have many full houses.
