First hand ever vs this player

The question for this hand is: Barrel the turn &/or River, or just check it down.
And as a side note, if opponent bets the turn or river, do we call or fold[1]

Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BTN): $6.03
SB: $4.95
BB: $9.11
UTG: $5.65

CO: $5.00

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.07) Hero has A♠:2♦:

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.15, SB calls $0.13, fold

Flop: ($0.35, 2 players) 5♣:T♣:A♦:

I would Cbet around half pot for value and protection against a unknown on the flop, but as played I would check turn as well. Tough to get value with a ace no kicker.

River I would consider to make a thin value bet. I expect villain would bet top pair or better here.

Cheers,

Hands like low aces with pair on the flop benefit from delayed cbet. So i will check behind most of the time and try to get 2 streets of value.

As played cbet is not a mistake. There is some drawing possibilites tha might pay you off. Some Tx hands also. Check behind OTT is okay.

On the river i will bet for value. The line of villian dont indicate much of a strenght. Our ace must be good in this spot

Barrel turn for 1/2p and check back river on wet boards lots of straight draws and flush draws possible also lots of Tx second pair hands. That would be my standard line ip to control the pot and if you face a raise it's usually just an easy fold without a kicker.

I don't know about you guys but I check/back on flop with these weak Aces a lot and then form my strategy on later streets but I don't mind it when opponents start to donk on turn or river.

In a vacuum, charging for draws is not wrong.

Be aware of nits though, and learn to fold it on BTN sometimes.
