The villain is 29/0/af1.0 7 hands

I feel like he has 2nd pair or draw a lot on this board so on river I bet small hoping he would call or spazz.

PokerStars - $0.16 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 143.19 BB
BB: 100 BB
Hero (UTG): 113.81 BB
CO: 118.25 BB
BTN: 58.81 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A♠ Q♠

Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, BTN calls 3 BB, fold, fold

Flop: (7.5 BB, 2 players) 4♠ A♥ J♦
Hero bets 4 BB, BTN calls 4 BB

Turn: (15.5 BB, 2 players) T♠
Hero bets 8.31 BB, BTN calls 8.31 BB

River: (32.13 BB, 2 players) 5♥
Hero bets 10.75 BB, BTN raises to 43.5 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 32.75 BB

Thoughts?

edit: I removed the results.

what about checking the turn? since it is connects with BTN's range well, if he jams turn with 44,KQs or JT we have low equity even with combo draws + pair versus that range. I feel like betting here is risky because of his range and his stack-size on the turn. The river call seems questionable in my mind since we are beating only bluff on the river. On the river you by the way you played you gave yourself almost too good of pot odds to fold but I don't know if top pair is ever good there.

I put my reply in a spoiler because it gives away what villain had
This way, others can evaluate the hand w/o that info.

Spoiler

I thought he might have a busted straight draw -- he had both actually -- and I think he can call here because he might read you for a busted flush draw (also true)

Okay, now I'm confused. Does the villain turn his hand into a bluff or is he actually value shoving?

7 hands means no information

YOu have to think beforehand about your opponents stacksize.
So flop and turn can be much higher with a strong hand.

as played i dont mind TUrn c/R_Ai with lower stack
here i would c bet 80%

River YOu have 1 Pair _ (plan 2 streets active) you face 3 streets passiv should be a fold. SH i would be ok with c/C River

against an unknown I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt on river plays like this unless their play is suspicious or I've picked up reads.

To me, his stack size is suspicious. lol

Yeah, but once I take this line, I have to call here on river because that was actually a part of the plan.

Flop can be a check OOP.
Turn is a check at some frequency. You really don't need to deny him equity and being raised is a disaster because you're probably behind but you have a ton of equity.
Your turn size is weird too. 1/2 bet doesn't make much sense on that card that is good for his range. Check or bet bigger.
I don't mind the river small bet, but you can't really call a raise. That's what the 1/3 bet is meant for or you'd either value town yourself bigger.
I think it goes check-check OTR often, so I also like to check sometimes.
Holding a Q is good because you block the nuts KQ, but that rarely matters at low stakes where population doesn't have river bluffs.
For instance, no one is going to turn QJs, QTs into bluffs.

That is funny as hell because we both have busted draws.

yeah maybe you could bet polarized and large on the turn looking for value and folding to a shove? what can we extract value from on the turn, some Aces, worse FD's, maybe some type of gut-shot + pair combo? maybe even hands like Q♣:T♥: or K♥:T♥:? maybe KJ? but then what to do on the river if we are just called on the turn, bet or check?

I think I'm betting turn because I feel like I'm improving and I want to add more money into the pot, the river play is simple as I have explained my line in OP. Sure, I could just go bet/bet/jam also but I thought my line here is better because I didn't think he would call/call/stack on this board but perhaps I can induce a spew.

it looks like kq, he dosent look competent enough to be bluff raising rivers, so probably the nuts

I don't understand your logic here, the turn is meh but the river bet/call all in seems pretty poor because any range that shoves there should have AQ crushed. You say in OP that you feel he has a 2nd pair or draw on the board.I don't know how you came up with only 2nd pair or draw for his range, can villain not play many hands stronger than AQs that just call your turn bet? Calling big river bets with 1-pair on draw heavy boards is not something I would get in the habit of doing. Broken stack or not people are allowed to show up with the nuts sometimes

Spoiler

BTN shows T♥ K♦ (One Pair, Tens)
(Pre 35%, Flop 13%, Turn 11%)
Hero shows A♠ Q♠ (One Pair, Aces)
(Pre 65%, Flop 87%, Turn 89%)
Hero wins 113.75 BB
Thanks for your input. Yes, I got lucky here with this narrow read but I think you are right in general. I looked up AQs in my PT4 because of this and I found that I am overplaying it somehow being that it is in overall red numbers where as all other premium range is over all green even the AQo. Thank you for opening my eyes. I think it is because AQs always look so pretty to me.

I think check calling the turn here is a very good option.
