Dealt to Hero: J  8 :spade: J :spade: 2 :spade:

I think 4-bet in an unraised pot on the flop just isolate me aganinst a range I can´t beat. So I flat and hope for a safe turn to get it in.

I don´t have to much stats of villian but he seems to be rather passive.

Unknown villian and limped pots are things I hate , since you are in position I guess your line is fine , a plo200 player (again , guessing since I don't play plo200) should be more agressive hence I think check raising something like this which is a range you beat. But continuing to a 4bet with something like this

Calling and shipping safe turns then is +ev dunno if a 4bet has a higher EV since I'm too stupid to calculate your FE exactly :f_mad:

nh imo, got to wait for what sim87 says :)

I like it. 3betting the flop kinda turns our hand into a bluff...

Yeh 3-bet not 4-bet!

I just hate call turn and fold river. Aggressive players can take advantage of this. But guess I need to balance this by playing my strong hands the same.

well, you said he was passive, I don't think passive players 2 barrell there without a higher fullhouse. also if he is not a reg balancing is not an issue.

so.. if we turn our hand into a bluff then what better hands is he supposed to fold if we have the second nuts? haha ..

as for the hand: I like flatting in position there a bit more then coming over the top again but I wouldn't mind that either.

as played its a fairly standard turnship as KK** gets super unlikely, KJ are very few combos and I doubt a passive player c/raises K8 there with a high frequency.

Why ship on turn? I think only better hands will call such a move. If he has straight draws, let him draw. Fishes maybe call down with 88. Isn´t it a WA/WB-situation and better to call down.

well there are 2 scenarios:
1) he has a draw. is he going to bet the river if he misses?
2) he has Kx. Is he going to bet that in if draws get there on the river?

against 88 we are getting it in on any river no matter what (probably) if he is not that decent.

I just don't think he b/folds that often on the turn but way more often on the river if you compare the defined hand-ranges.

calling turn an getting it in on the river is also okay fwiw but I prefer to ship the turn.
