Hey guys,
with trips you are way-ahead-way-behind in PLO. What would you do here? Did I play it right?

iPoker - €0.04 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 4 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 446.75 BB (VPIP: 75.00, PFR: 7.50, 3Bet Preflop: 4.08, Hands: 83)
Hero (SB): 264.75 BB
BB: 115 BB (VPIP: 83.75, PFR: 37.50, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 81)
CO: 54 BB (VPIP: 72.39, PFR: 1.49, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 134)

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB, CO posts penalty blind 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.5 BB) Hero has Q♣ J♠ A♦ 7♣

CO checks, BTN calls 1 BB, Hero calls 0.5 BB, BB checks

Flop: (4 BB, 4 players) T♣ J♥ J♦
Hero bets 1.5 BB, fold, fold, BTN calls 1.5 BB

Turn: (7 BB, 2 players) 2♥
Hero bets 4.75 BB, BTN raises to 16.5 BB

Hero .......????

Spoiler

fold
BTN wins 15.5 BB

Hi again,
OTF I suggest a larger bet -- something that says, "Hey -- I have it! Call if you dare!"

Given that he just flats the flop, and raises pot OTT, I would guess he's not bluffing.
He *might* have pocket twos, but he's pretty sure you don't.

Only a :7x: gives you the nut full house, :Qx: and :Ax: are behind pocket Qs or As

The best thing I can say about this hand is that it is a superb example of why position is important!

You really don't have a lot of river cards you want to see, so the tight fold is probably best.

Trips are always bit dangerous in PLO so I tried to keep the pot small ...

In Holdem I would jam it all day, but in PLO ........? Should I really go for it?

I would probably c/c OTT. The 2 is a brick (even with the backdoor flush draw) and betting only makes fold worse hands.
Imo there is no reason to bet to steal equity as most of the straight cards gives you full or straight.
And if villain is turning 2 pairs into bluff you are losing a ton of money when you bet/fold.
Turn, you are only beaten by few combos and still have good outs vs these combos so check call turn and see the river would be my line here.

My thoughts were that Villain seem to be pretty polarized at this board. Either he has a FH or trips with better kicker or he is turning two pair into a bluff or even overplaying AAxx or KKxx or QQxx? Then I thought that on this level Villains bet mostly according to their hand strength and a raise OTT with AAxx, KKxx, QQxx would be a bit bizarre. On the other hand, Villain could have TTxx or JAxx, J2xx, 22xx, JTxx so here - as it´s written in the articles, I´m way ahead way behind and I think my bet OTT was very bad! I should have x turn and tried to see a cheap showdown, keeping the pot small.

bet-fold on the turn.

@Vorpal, 7 doesn't make nutboat. JT is still the nuts.

Bet half a pot on the flop, and definitely bet the turn for value. Once opponent raises you have to give him credit for fullhouse, and you don't have equity to call it.

That´s what I did. I gave him credit for an FH and figured that I may have only the second-best hand here, so .....fold!

I thought that was quite good to improve your checking range. Because we still have good redraws and we have to fold if we're facing a raise. besides it's whatever a hand we can't have 3 streets of value

In PLO4 my standard line would be to bet. Once I have information about my opponent, I can adjust.

And standard line should be based on population tendencies. Against unknown PLO4 opponent bet is so much more +EV than check. Remember, we don't have to be balanced unless opponent can exploit us being unbalanced. And unknown PLO4 players doesn't exploit us.

my decision would be fold there is to much to risk.
