Hardware requirements

What Are The PC Specs To Run Holdem Manager 3?

Computer Hardware

Minimum Requirement: Intel Core i3 (or AMD equivalent) processor with 4GB of RAM.
Recommended: Modern quad-core processor with 8GB of RAM or greater. This includes the Intel i5 processor lines (or their equivalent AMD processors).
Optimal: Intel Core i7 multi-core 64-bit processor with 16GB of RAM or greater.
Not Recommended: Intel Pentium 4, Atom, Core 2 Duo, or other low power processors such as ARM.

Operating System

Minimum Requirement: Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10.
Recommended: Windows 10+
Optimal: Windows 10 64bit

Hard Drive

The number one factor for speed performance is hard drive speed. Holdem Manager recommends at least a 7200RPM hard drive or faster. Solid State Drives (SSDs) are currently the fastest drives available for optimal performance.

I would suggest that the "minimum" should be considered "will work, but you'll hate your life"

I've been using HM3 for a while now, works great on my PC, if you don't use a laptop you can just upgrade what you need and that's it, what are your currently specs?

Also, you do get a 15 bucks discount on the upgrade until november if you have an HM2 license.

seems pretty fair considering HM2 has existed for over 6 years (probably more), and they've provided support all those years...

I just hope they implement a cloud database feature soon, for people like me who play on multiple computers it would be a blessing.

I thought that the primary advantage to HM3 was the fact that it was based on data storage in the cloud

Nope, the cloud feature on HM2 was full of failures so they actually took it off, I hope they develop one soon.

I do love the graphical hud, the situational view and the fact that you don't need a postgresql database

What is wrong with postgresql ?
I have run it for years without much problem.

I also use mysql for other purposes, and even sqlite for some things.

What does HM3 use?

PostgreSQL is not bad at all, but sometimes you can have problems with it, HM3 uses a single file database stored into the Documents folder in your PC, it’s simpler and easier to use.

After buy new PC tried HM3 for one day, and actually hated it. Its so hard to find tournament filters you want HM2 is way easier. Maybe HM3 have some other cool features, but personally using it only for HUD and for tournament results check... Dont even found how to import my old HUD from HM2 to HM3... Going to use HM2 till last day its going to work.

My postgresql databases are on a separate SSD drive from my system drive.
If I could put the single-file database on that, we'd be OK

You can import it directly from HM2 by going to HUD>Import HM2 HUD, you can also export your HUD profile from HM2 and import through the HUD editor, it is quite easy.

You can, the only thing it is not recommended it is to have it on folder that directly goes to the cloud like a dropbox or google drive folder, you can even copy your HM2 into an HM3 DB, it won't work on an external hard drive or cloud, besides that you can choose whatever location you want.

I made a quick video showing how to import your HUD from HM2 and how to put your DB on another drive, hope it helps.

Thanks, I won a full licence few years back through PokerStrategy raffle or something. Or I got it through some freelancer promo (I was a mod back then )
Can't remember really.

I think is very unfair it does not just buy HM3 you have to buy new pc about 500 € here without monitor. I had got 4GB ram but i don't think my old pc enough to run HM3.

VorpalF2F: Thanks the link. If i read well i can use 2021 HM2, only depend whether that poker room allows it.
But i read one where wrote HM3 cost only 25$ another offical site i saw 60$. And for me isn't clear if i buy HM3 before 2020.10.15 how many i can pay. And very risk because if it isn't run my pc i lost hm2 too.

The best way to know how much it costs is to go to the website and check, log in with your HM2 account and see how much it's gonna cost you.
