Pokertools / pokersoftware for beginner

Hi community,

I am new to this world of poker and want to ask which pokertools and/or pokersoftware is crucial for beginners?
What are your advices?

I think it's better to use the basics before you use any tools. After that you can think of using tools like Holdem manager/PokerTracker and other tools that cost money if you want to use it.

With "basics" you mean the poker basics I can learn from the poker videos provided by www.pokerstrategy.com?

Hi Cypross,

SDK1987 already provided a link to some basic articles to help you get going if you're completely new to poker.

In addition to that, here is an Overview of NL Lessons (if you play cash games) and an Overview of SNG Lessons (if you play tournaments).

I agree that there aren't any tools that are really essential to get you going. Once you got more experience, you will probably eventually want to get some kind of tracking software, especially if you're a cash game player. For tournaments, there are some tools to practice late game decisions which could come in handy.

But before getting to any of that, I believe it's better to gain some theoretical knowledge first and get some practice at the tables.
