Hey guys,

I just came to London today for a week.

I am looking for a nice cash game for blinds max NL 0.5/1.

Do you know which casinos/poker rooms in London offer that with a 5% rake and have enough traffic?

I checked the G casinos but they have a 10% rake which Im not very fond of playing at.

I also checked the Empire but unless I am missing something out they games start at 1/2 pounds.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Not sure, but I don't think your gonna find games lower than 1/1.

When I was in London i visited The Golden Nugget and Gala Casino, both were great. There were a 1/1 game at The Golden Nugget, I played like 30 min. but it seemed soft.

Empire game is good?

In what aspect?

Ive been there before, very nice play.

Is the 1-2 game soft? Ive been there once (when I was really fishy), I remember it was tuesday afternoon and was a table with 6 regs.

Any experience on their tables?

i have played there a fair bit. there are more regs there than the hipodrome or nugget but generally the fish there are worse. i prefer playing at the hipodrome to be honest just the general standard of the regs seems to be worse and you still get all the fishys

I went to the golden nugget casino on sunday night.

Rake was 5% not sure what the cap was but wasnt high. Games started at 1/1.

Skill level was not partularly difficult.

Reccomended if you are looking for an 1/1 game.

By chatting with the regs there, they told me that the NL2/5 game at the empire is the place to be if u have the bankroll with lots of rich fish on the tables.

My 2 cents.

I've played at a few London casinos but most of my play was at Fox until it closed down.

Played 1/2 at the Hippo on Saturday - 2 Fish, 4 average/poor regs, 2 ok regs - standard I think.

The Empire is a similar level, I think the Vic is slightly tougher at 1/2 (having a 1/1 game means most of the fish will play that and the 1/2 game becomes slightly tougher). From limited experience, PLO at the Vic was much tougher than PLO at the Empire or Fox although there is a more regular game.

Live play is way softer than online, but it can be a bit deceptive. The guy who limps in frequently might not be as bad as you assume after playing online. Some of those guys are quite strong post-flop and limping isn't such a mistake once the stacks start getting 200bb deep.

It's also a bit of different game when flops are often 4+ ways, which is almost unheard of in the games I play online. Takes a bit of getting used to.

IMO 1/2 is roughly equivalent to Stars 10c/25c.

Wondering now which Poker Strategists I've sat down with!

+! I come from a place were the local casino has a 0.25c bb game, where a two pound raise 100 bb deep get 5-6 callers :)

I really agree that live to online is a diff game.
