Hi!

Unless he is completly irrational you have to first realise that range that is 3betting MP1 OR is pretty darn strong. Higher pockets and better Ax are the major part of it. Appart from that there may be some KQ or KJ/QJ depending how loose he is...
so on this flop you are severly behind his entire standard 3bet range except KQs...

which makes it a quite easy fold on the flop... but if you say he is very loose and that you can predict what he is gonna do on turn with hands like 88,KQ,KJ,QJ(that is he will check) then flop call is not terrible but sure is very borderline.Without any reads I would go for standard flop fold.

Turncall though is definatelly too much.He should not be betting with 88 and even KQ,KJ are very likely to check here...so fold turn is best.

I hear you, fold on flop unless very loose, and that he wasn't.
I'm starting to understand this range stuff a little more now.
Just need to have it repeated enough times.

Folding on the flop's close but i probably wouldn't do it.

Personally I'd have K8s, K9, 44-66 and 88 that are worse than 99 which, assuming I don't cap preflop, is 18% of my range and I probably don't want to be folding that much in a 3-bet pot.

(Opponent getting 7.5-1 on his bet on the flop so we should be folding about 14% of the time)

That said if I call the flop I have to fold the turn when he bets because 99 is now pretty much the worse hand in my range and the river call is pretty much spew.

i agree, folding the flop is close and could go either way, but calling the turn is def a mistake. calling the river is probably close to a full 1BB loser in EV
