I was hoping she included her phone # until the cat thing started.

"I want to hug them all"
No ya don't, actually.

Yep, I have no doubt a Lynx would appreciate a good cuddle, it being so cold and homeless an' all.

So, br being rather decimated, time for a rethink.
Had some tough news today, mrsgadget is on the list for getting laid off. Could have done without that after all the other crap she's had to put up with lately.
So, upshot is small br and need to get bloody good bloody quick, no more phaffing about for gadget.

I'll start with one table, taking a leaf out of thazar's well thumbed book of smarts and see what I can do with a whole heap of study. I'll have to do it myself since a coach is unaffordable and it won't be easy.
I've done plenty of challenges like build a br from nothing stuff but never really done in-depth analysis of hands from my database. I usually play using betting size tells, timing tells, my perception of villains and their tendencies at these limits, etc., and it's ok, but not a whole load else. So I need to change my attitude and how I learn which is a challenge in itself.

So, not much of an update and not much play for this month, I expected to get back up the order next month, but it may take a few weeks longer now, maybe not, we'll see.

Run good guys and have fun.

Oh that sucks :(

Does she definitely have to leave or is there still a chance she can stay? Either way hope everything turns out fine in the end!

Hi Mal, sorry to hear that about MrsGadget :(

If you google it you will find one great article, on well known website, about how to react to getting laid off, and how to approach the situation. Maybe it will help at least a little bit..

When it comes to the poker, I'm sure you'll be fine, your dedication and self- discipline in moving up and down in stakes look promising imo.

greats,

Fran

In her favour is her attendance record which is second to none and her work ethic, which is equally as impressive, so we'll see. Whatever, we'll see better days.

So I 1-tables yesterday, just trying to work out some ranges and remember them. I'll want to know them by auto-recall in a short while because the first thing I noticed was how tough it was to be patient on a passive table. I don't want to adjust for a few days, just build.
I'm not sure but I've taken out the likes of KTs and Ato/AJo/KJo from my utg range and left T8s/98s/87s and 67s in. I have no idea if that's good but just having a few hands that can hit some of those bloody infuriatingly low boards oop might be worth it.
I've also started raising from utg, mp and sb to 3x, nobody seems to care much anyway, the reg will still call the bu with whatever, the sb will 3bet with Axs and the bb with still overcall that with 53o.
I had been raising 2.5 from everywhere except the bu but my sb/bb steals got no respect at all and I was leaking.
Oh, forgot to add that I raise 2.5 form utg with 98s etc and 3x with the big guns.

Ooooo, such an exploitative player, let's take him down! It's nl5, purleease!

Ok, too long, I give up.

Have a good day everybody.

I am conviced that you can play with a loose BRM at micros up to NL 25 atleast something like 15-20 bi per limit.

I think the most important motivation is to see that you make progress and improve your game, I think that's what people need to take the step to the next limit.

15-20 bi is a solid brm on lower stakes atleast if you got a solid gameplan and strategy GL!

I agree mineriva and she tends towards the panic end of the spectrum when things go wrong, can't wait.

The problem with such bankroll management is that I need to be very confident of my game, which I often am except at times like these! :P

Speaking of poker, it's a bit meh at the moment. I played a few K on I poker speed and it's just tough not no break even it seems. You build it up and build it up, then some rec hits runner runner flush with 83s - yay!
Anyway, getting a few hands in to practice stuff so it's all good. I think I cn get back on track by next month, a few weeks later than anticipated but there's lots going on lately.

For example, we live in such a quiet neighbourhood where most people know each other a bit that really nothing happens apart from chasing kids out of the garden (that's always fun).
Anyway, night before last there was a huge bang and when we looked out the window there were armed police all over the place, running around and shouting the odds at people. Of course yours truly had to go for a peek - and promptly got chased back indoors by a policeman with a very big gun! Well, either that or he was damned pleased to see me!

Anyway, upshot is a guy got arrested for kidnapping some kids and shooting a gun at the police a few times. It made the news, how famous are we!? :f_cool:

So, mrsgadget has taken to locking us in at night - and closing the curtains of course - just in case he escaped. You will of course note that people only escape at night.

Anyway, enough blabber, have a peaceful weekend.

Pokerwise things seem to be going from bad to worse; I haven't had a winning session since Scottish Independence day...oh, wait...

On a more technical note, this hand gave me a headache.

Versus a reg, if I hit a blank river I can fold, but it's tough to fold these some days; some days I can, but not often lately.

When I tank/call I should tank/fold instead v a reg in these games and I know it. Donk.

In other news, for some reason known only to herself, my mother - who turned down the position of Yoda because the part was too young by the way - got given an IPad for her Christmas. What a great idea that fkn was! 84,329 phone calls later and she still thinks it's a telly. Seriously, she asked where the videos go last week because 'it's a bit thin and where's the thingy to put them in?' ?(

Spent two hours on the phone last night trying to get her to find the accept option for skype contact. She ended up with checkers on the screen instead. How the fk did we get there!? :f_confused:

Anyway, I've been asked to help mrsgadget plant flowers and cut the grass today so - given my love of all things gardenistic, speculate on what 'help' entails and it's cost to my disposition at your leisure...

...and if I'm really good, I get to paint the fkn ceiling this afternoon. Me balla.

Excuse me while I... :rage: :rage:

Thank you I can go now.

My (70yr) mother does farmville2. She does between 700MB-1GB per day! But she wanted to sell her tablet because she is battling to use it

She just cannot seem to understand that she needs exactly 2 skills to use the tablet. One "put on your glasses" and Two "read". It seems to be problematic.

At least her skype works because i installed it and demonstrated it for her.

UL about the poker man. I have been wasting my time with 6max micros and I must say that i found ipoker much more difficult than other sites. I also did the NL5 fast fold but I find it very tight.

Ye, that fast-fold nonsense is very tight/passive, they'll flat you with QQ in the sb and then go mental with the chips on a low board. Not hard to read but gets expensive.

So I entered a couple of MM qualies and ended up losing in the nl and plo and qualifying the flhe fs, how the fk did I get into that! The first I realised was when I went to ship it pre early on...
Anyway, Pics 'R' Us:

What's really pissing me off is not only am I totally fishy at FL I tried my bollox off to lose in 7th to collect the cash and they were so bad they couldn't get rid of me. :rage:

So what with the gardening and painting, losing yet another 1.5BI at nl4 and getting sucked out on in 12 $1 sngs in a row when hu, winner takes all - seriously - that just about made my day complete.

So fk it I'm off to bed.

Run good all.

Not a lot going right at the tables still but I do feel I'm playing ok, it's just building a nice stack then running into a monster with my overpair versus the mighty K3s flatting my 3bet on a 953r...3 board, know what I mean? Obviously on the other table my KK runs into AA which would normally get ignored, but presently... :f_ugly:

Think this about covers it for now:

Laters peeps, keep it fun.

Silly people, I have to believe in them because I live with one. duh! :f_eek:
Did you know none of my family cast a reflection in a mirror?

Anyhoooo, I played some micromillions satties because I got sick of getting my ass raped on the cash tables and because I hadn't tried anything like them before. I used those fpps thingies and sold the T$ I got. Damn those things are just lolaments.
So, upshot is I went from $12 on stars to $60 which is pretty damned cool, partly with the help of selling the ME seat I got for 20fpps and cashed in a $10 vpp thingy from the store.
They were fun and not hard even for a fish like me, but I wouldn't want to play MTT all the time at the moment although they're a nice break.

In other news, I get to do some more painting today and out up the venetian blind in my computer room (damn that sounds sooooo middle class :] ). Mrsgadget wants so mrsgadget gets as usual, although I did get on her nerves asking, 'A venetian blind what?' She reckons I'll grow up one day, I said I already did that once, but only once.

A feel the step ladder beckoning...

Was outraged for a second thinking you sold your $22 ticket for just 20 fpps :f_biggrin:

"I did that once, but only once" Mal the Vampire.

I love this quote. Also, ask MrsGadget if she wants you to mix some garlic in the paint. This way you could become immune on garlic over some time period maybe?
