Why do you open 2.5x from the BTN? Imho if on the blinds there are no regs which are particularly strong (and this should be the case) you have no particularreason to open that small. If there are 2 randoms on the blind it is not a mistake to open even 4x, since they're fish and they're calling down about everything independently on the size you make.

On the postlop I don't think you can fold. The pot is really big, you've already bet and you have TPTK. You're only beaten by pocket queens and KQ, so against a fish you have to call.

4xing in here would force us to go broke pre, as it would be better for me ofc, and if not, there would be even better odds to me to push ai on flop.

Imo result wouldnt change that much just the lines in longterm

When I talk about opening 4x vs fishes w/ strong hand I mean that we make a lot more profit on the longterm, since every pot against them is a bit bigger. I know the pot doesn't get THAT bigger, but considering that most player base their profit on few bb/100 on a huge amount of hands, then every single bb is important in that count.

Well, actually the plan IS to broke preflop with AK, I don't really think you're folding to a 5bet here: it would be awfully weak. And certainly your plane is not to get to the flop, hit TPTK and fold, that would have no sense. You just want to get the money in asap :)

curious to know what is your opening range in CO?

also I would probably play this the same way... we have TPTK in a 4bet pot and i don't see how we can fold with this SPR.

on the flop you should bet ~$1.50, maybe $1.40 - we are not folding, this hits our range, and we don't need to worry about getting stacks in by the river - if you bet bigger then you have awkward SPR on later streets and if you bet smaller than half ppl tend to play bad (either spazz out or hero call with hands like AQ or JJ for example). if you bomb flop they fold their JJ, often their AQ so you could bem issing a bit of value - if they fold to 20bb but call 14bb then you just made 14bb which is pretty huge.

Nothing here indicates to me that the opponents are exceptionally bad so opening 4X is way too large. It would prevent Hero from opening a wide range of hands in the CO, which is not good.

Sure they may not be super strong regs, but still what makes you think hero can completely outplay them postflop? They are after all, regs of the same limit and should be fairly similar in skill level.

2.5-3X is fine in my opinion

Talking about randoms, not regs. Just in case a very strong reg is on the blinds and we have 15 hands on him, then we ignore he's a strong reg and he also ingore we're regs too. So, since it's a good hand I think we can raise larger imho. I didn't say 3x ok is not ok, but 2.5x imho is senseless at NLT :)

Why is noone considering folding?

Its a 4bet pot on NL10. And then a X/shove on the flop, a typical villains range looks a follow:

[AA,KK,QQ,ThJh,AKs,AKo] 69% vs 30%

So he needed to check/shove all remaining AKs / AKo combos, to make this a breakeven call. I think folding is the better option, considering rake.

We block most FD combos with the A , so you can cbet a little smaller, which makes folding to a shove easier. Make it easier for AQ to call. Something like 1/3 maybe.

Don't know what FD combos he might want to flat to 4bet, which have no A  and are not J :heart:T , so just cbet smaller and fold to shove.

I'm not sure about the exact fish:reg ratio, maybe it's 1:1? If fish:reg ratio was 2:1 then I would agree that you should treat any random player more like a fish than a reg.

For example, I would assume that an unknown player at mid-stakes is likelier to be a reg than a fish (unless he has a weird stack size)

Stack to pot ratio is extremely small, so folding would be extremely bad.
Your estimates are also way too pessimistic - We can assume that villain will 5bet preflop w KK/AA the majority of the time, so we need to heavily discount that from his range. Same goes for QQ.

This means that we are often up against KQ/JT/flush draws and some other straight draws, maybe KJs/KTs. AK is way too strong against such a range.

If villain can have J:hT:h, he can also have the other 3 combos of JTs
