I had no stats/notes on him.

PokerStars - $0.10 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J♥ T♥

UTG calls 1 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 0.5 BB, BB checks

Flop: (3 BB, 3 players) 8♦ A♦ 9♠
Hero checks, BB bets 2 BB, UTG calls 2 BB, Hero calls 2 BB

Turn: (9 BB, 3 players) Q♥
Hero bets 6.5 BB, fold, UTG raises to 13 BB, Hero calls 6.5 BB

River: (35 BB, 2 players) 8♥
Hero checks, UTG bets 33.4 BB, Hero ?

I play on this limit just for the challenge, like 500 hands every day so preflop I just limp maybe I´ve shoulda raised but I play scared on this limit.
On the flop I call with my str8 draw.
On the turn he raise my bet. What hands limp preflop, call on the flop and raise the turn, maybe 88, 99, AA - I´ve seen this strategy to slow play AA and just limp preflop on microlimits a couple of times. I beat a set and his bluffs and I call the raise.
River the board pairs and this scares me because now I lose vs all sets. Shoulda I fold or call here ?

Preflop raise the limper. He may fold but if he calls at least you would have initiative postflop.
Flop we should call.
On turn it is interesting to hear what stopped you from re-raising/calling a push. You have the best hand and you should extract value. A big plus for this is that villain is interested and raised.
On river bet small and fold vs a raise.

Preflop is fine if you're not comfortable on the limit. People tend to limp stronger on zoom so it's ok not to isolate as much. Flop is fine, turn I would check/raise as it's easier to put more money in the pot that way. After he reraises calling makes no sense. He doesn't have bluffs here and you definitely want to 3bet and stack off now before a scary card comes for him on the river. As played... You beat AQ/Q9, split with TJ and lose rarely to a slowplayed set or Q8s. Not very happy to do it but still should be a call.

@nitrol Donk small/fold is my absolute favourite line to play against. It can work against weak players but definitely not a good idea to do against any decent player. Here fish can overplay his two pair/straight against a small donk so I don't like it.

+1
on river honestly I don't think I could find fold even if he raises my lead. his range is so wide and i think bad player could be overplaying his trips a lot of the times.

What about making a solid bet on river?

I would shove vs his turn raise, simply because you have the best hand and there are a lot of scary rivers.
As played I would b/f around 10/13BB.

AgapieGheorghe, on the turn the villain showed strength raising ur bet and u have THE NUTS, why not pushing it right there?
He would have called, and u would be ahead. The perfect spot.

You should raise pre and then cbet OTF. I won't comment how you should play it postflop as played because this hand is played wrong from the start.

If you feel uncomfortable at this limit, you shouldn't play it. Better play at lower limits and practice than play wrong at this limit and lose money.

I already explained why I play on this limit.
I dont hate the way I played post flop. When I played the hand the only mistake I think I did was on the turn when i didn't pushed all-in.
Anyway my question was only for the river decision, if I should call or not there.

Villain had 8♠:8♣:

Donking river small is terrible, and then folding to raise? Hell no. Agree with Kriko that this is a terrible spot for it.

This is inducing bluffs, and then folding an incredibly strong bluffcatcher, and it makes absolutely no sense.

When villain does not raise flop we are not really expecting him to have any boats on the river except Q8, JT is still good very very often here.

If we fail to get it in on turn as we should, I think the best river line is x/c since we let him both bluff and value bet worse hands.

I agree with isolating the fish preflop. As played, leading the flop as a semi-bluff would be fine, I believe, but check/calling is also good. Then on the turn we should definitelly stack him off with the nuts. No need to call. As played, I would call the river. He has two pairs more often than boats/4 of a kind there.

Yes you did and it doesn't make any sense to me. You said you play too high limit "just for challenge". It is totally fine to take shots at higher stakes and challenge yourself if you want to, but shouldn't you try to play as good as possible and try to play perfectly because that is the challenge? Anyone can go to play higher stakes and limp around but that is just stupid.

The line you took here (because you are scared) and your attitude shows that you really didn't do this to challenge yourself. You did it to have fun. Meaning you played recreationally. Meaning you shouldn't care how you played it on the river because you just wanted to play some pots and spew around. If you care about your line and want to really challenge yourself and play good, you should start by fixing your preflop game.

Totally disagree. Why bloat the pot OOP with a marginal hand that benefits from a high SPR? There's no need to automatically isolate fish with any two cards.

Cmon man.. Limping is always almost bad. This hand is not so marginal and we are not playing just any 2 here. Are you limping here yourself?
