SB: $0.83 (41.5 bb)
BB: $2 (100 bb)
MP1: $1.92 (96 bb)
MP2: $2.13 (106.5 bb)
Hero (MP3): $2 (100 bb)
CO: $1.32 (66 bb)
BTN: $2.16 (108 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 9 K
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.08, CO folds, BTN calls $0.08, 2 folds

Flop: ($0.19) A 2 3 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.19, Hero calls $0.19

Turn: ($0.57) 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.57, Hero calls $0.57

River: ($1.71) T (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $1.32 and is all-in, Hero?

villain - VPIP: 85, PFR: 31, 3B: 0, AF: 1.3, Hands: 13

Here villain is almost unknown but in that few hands played and by the flow of the game, he was seems a recreational (almost played all hands between calls and raise as first in) so, I decide that K9s was stand hes large and weak range.

I played passively almost all the streets as he was never fold to cbet on any streets and also I want have a pot manageable if I dont close the flush on the river, plus I want try to keep his range as large possible.

Where, if, I play this hand wrong, please?

TY :)

Preflop is fine. If you have identified an idiot you can isolate him with a wide range. I love it.

Postflop you are way overpaying with your draw. That's fine early as there are alot of implied odds, but on the turn not so much. SO when you call a third of the pot (a pot sized call is one third) with a 20%ish draw you are giving money away, without future implied odds paying out often.

This is why I think it would be more standard here to call the flop but fold this turn - especially out of position and always against most regulars - especially as you include the possibility you are drawing dead to Adxd. The flop you can nearly always draw a street even if the direct odds are in the toilet, because the future implied odds over two streets are pretty good. The turn not as much as a flush hitting can shut down river action really fast. Even a crazy villain might find a fold when your flush completes - in fact, flushes are the first hand a new casual player learns to identify, the first hand a new player plays for, and the first hand they identify a fold to.

The last reason to overcall flops with draws but not turns is on the flop you have a strong chance of buying two cards for your call. Not all villains will double barrel, and sometimes he is on a cbet with QJ and you take the pot down after both parties x-x turn and river when missing. On the turn the likelyhood your K9 can randomly show up as OK is nearly completely gone, and there is only one card left so you can't luck out and get a freebie.

Then again vs weird loosey gooney villain perhaps you can draw with implied odds on the turn as well, even OOP. I'm not sure. The goon hunter in me wants to call, but the bank roll is sick of watching huge turn draw calls go into the bin and getting angry. I'm folding.

Finally, the position issue also dramatically damages your future implied odds, especially on the turn. This feeds into the only part of the hand I am really prepared to say was really wrong - checking the river - even vs goosey, even after he pots twice. You NEED those implied odds paid to make your draw OK. I think you need to donk this river to make sure he can't find his brain and check-behind any Ax hands he is overplaying. Of course you move him off his stupid 3 barrel bluffs this way. So maybe I am wrong in saying it was wrong... but then we probably should have mucked the turn due to the positional issue making river implied payouts hard to get in the first place.

Preflop standard. Vs this guy I think you can call flop and see what happens. OTT we really do not have the odds to call. As played I would call river because he can do this with many worse hands.

Because, the only combos that beat us on the River (despite how I have played the previous streets) is :Ax::diamond:, means 1/1326 that's 0.8%

and :wtf: can be possible that he got right that hand?
or, to be more accurate he may have also

AdAh, AdAs, AhAs, AdQd, AhQh, AsQs, AdJd, AhJh, AsJs, Ad8d, Ah8h, As8s, Ad7d, Ah7h, As7s, Ad6d, Ah6h, As6s, Ad5d, Ah5h, As5s, Ad4d, Ah4h, As4s

24/990 2.42% of his range

Can he have that? With all the diamonds already floating in the space-time tissue?

I struggled in game to have a clear mind on the move to make tbo :f_frown:

... but at those limits, players are somehow magics sometime and manage to manipulate the matter as the physics and all the low of the Universe starting fail apart vs such players!

Spoiler :why:

He showed up with Adxd?

That is something you needed to consider OTT when deciding to play on for your 2nd best flush draw for a pot sized bet :) If you continued not only did you commit to going broke on a flush hitting, you NEEDED to go broke to recover the overpaid draw :)

Again making assumptions over a 13 hands sample. Until a couple of rounds more we should stick to our basic strategy. Then if the tendency continues, we can adapt.
Flop is a call, but on turn we have to fold.

If you can't make assumptions based on that you are playing pretty scared.

Well, I've marked some villains with similar stats for small sample and after 200 hands it turns out they are not that loose, you know.

In poker you have to go with the reads you actually have. It is a game of incomplete information. The observations made initially by OP (by keeping his eyes open) is worth much more than any kind of sample (robust villain is today drunk).

That said, I'm not a huge fan of isolation attempts out of position. Bad in general. But if K♦:9♦: is a standard marginal fold, the it may become a marginal open. I'd still not do it because even bad players with position pose a threat, especially the aggressive ones. This is an argument for playing tighter, increasing the chance you flop something you can go all the way with. In position it is a completely different story. Play 100% of your hands on the button versus a complete UFO.

The clearly mistakes, imo, was posflop.
All ur calls were wrong based on pot odds.

If u keep calling ur flushdraws like this, u ll see ur balance diminish over the time.

Iso raise acting before the fish? This seems unlikely for me.

kiroman, about guys talking about the sample... yes, its really small. But already tells u that villain is "a bit more likely" a loose one.

And why did you make 3 posts to tell us that? :)

The first two I was quoting what the guys mentioned and answering each one separated. U also do that.

The frog watched how the male dog lifts his leg while peeing, and started lifting her leg too... :)
No need to pump 3 sentences in 3 posts, man. It is not the postcount that matters. :)

Hi both.

Keep the posts based on the hand.
Now you’re more talking about each other than about the hand.

Cheers,
